What's coming out this year? What have we got to look forward to?
Tell us about the good stuff!

Deborah Swift (deborahswift) | 4 comments From Pepys's Diary we get one view of Restoration London. From the women in his life we get quite another. A maid, a mistress, a spy...the first of my three books based around the women of Pepys's Diary, 'Pleasing Mr Pepys' will be out with Accent Press in September. So you have a few more months to get as excited as I am! No cover as yet - I'm awaiting it with bated breath...

I think you might have to pop over to my blog later this year :-D does Affie Behn turn up in your books too?

message 4: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Swift (deborahswift) | 4 comments No, though she does get a mention from some of the other characters who are spying for the Dutch. I recommend a great research book about espionage - Marshall's 'Intelligence and Espionage in the Reign of Charles II 1660 - 1685'.

Deborah Swift (deborahswift) | 4 comments That should be great - but get your thermals on!

message 7: by Cryssa (new)

Cryssa | 5 comments Thanks for starting this group. My first book, Traitor's Knot, will be coming out with Endeavour in a few months. No release date or cover as yet. It's a romantic adventure set during the 3rd Civil War.

message 8: by Evelyn (new)

Evelyn (evetid) | 5 comments My WIP is about a 17th century explorer, buccaneer, privateer, pirate! His life was long and interesting, so I think this will be the first of a series. At the moment I am bogged down in researching sugar plantations and slavery. You just never know where research is going to take you. I am hoping to have finished the book by the end of 2017.

Hmm, Evelyn, you mean I get to freeze my tail feathers off in Brugge and you're going to have to go to Jamaica? Pfuh! There is no justice!!!

message 10: by Alison (new)

Alison Stuart (alisonstuart) | 5 comments It almost snuck into 2017... Book 1 in a 2 book series covering the period of the civil war from 1642-5 AND THEN MINE ENEMY is just out.
Book 2: NOW MY SWORN FRIEND should (God willing!) be out in late May.

England 1642: Hardened mercenary, Adam Coulter returns to England sickened by violence, seeking only peace, but he finds England on the brink of civil war.
King or Parliament? Neutrality is not an option and as the war and as family tensions collide around them, Adam and the woman he loves, Perdita Gray, are torn between old loyalties and a growing attraction that must be resisted.
And Then Mine Enemy And Then Mine Enemy (Feathers in the Wind #1) by Alison Stuart

Evelyn, I fell into writing a trilogy (!) after I started the research for my Hispano-Vatican conspiracy about 'tulipmania' (The Chosen Man) - that led me to Murat Reis & pirates and has taken me half way round Europe and on to Portuguese Goa in India now. I have a fair bit on Barbary pirates & some good contacts on their terrible deeds if you want any extra help in that regard. My author page is on Fb: J.G. Harlond - message me if you like.

Thank you J.G. I will take a look.

message 14: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 1 comments I just came out with Legacy of Luck, which is slightly out of date - 1746 rather than 17th century. A bit of a miss!

Deborah Foulkes (deborahcfoulkes) | 2 comments Hello All,

My new release is set in 1644 and is about The Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins. I'd love it you all took a look. His Last Witch Hunt :)

message 16: by Susan (new)

Susan (suereadsbooks) The Time Traveler's Guide to Restoration Britain: A Handbook for Visitors to the Seventeenth Century 1660 - 1699 by Ian Mortimer has just been released in hardback in the UK. I really enjoyed his other books in this series about Medieval and then Elizabethan England. I will definitely read this one.
