In the Unlikely Event question

This boom started out slow but read the whole book carefully, every charactor has some significance to tge story, I felt. Once the boom got interesting, I could not put it down. I felt Blume was conveying that everybody is connected in some way. Though the message might have been exagerated, I think it is accurate, especially since this was a small town.
