I just finished this book and once again my outlook on Peter Pan is not what I expected it to be before I started this book. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else I will just say...
It took me more than half of the book to finally let go of my preconceived perception of Peter Pan (the Peter Pan I have loved from the original) and be open to who he was in this book. I really do like the adaptation of how the author showed me why James Hook is who he is and how he came to be that way. Very entertaining and pleasantly surprised how by the end I really enjoyed it.

I'm also kinda confused what exactly this books is in terms of target audience. The writing style reminds me more of Middle Grade or Young Adult and yet sometimes it tries to be more adult? Like the author couldn't decide.
I don't have a problem with Peter being portrayed in a certain way. Sociopath Peter Pan is a pretty common interpretation of the character (OUAT is hardly the first one to do it) but here it is done in a kinda boring way.

Good Luck!
If you read the book then please come here and let us know what you think of it.
