While Hayes is still working on the logistics of her wonderful ideas for summer challenges, your group moderators have been also thinking about new ongoing reading challenges, as per member requests. The list below contains just a few of our ideas, but if you can think of anything, we'd love to hear your suggestions. Plus, we'd really like our members to help out. All of the books involved will be in the mystery, crime and thriller areas.

1) an A to Z author challenge, where you read books by author last name in order;
2) a mystery/crime/thriller "page to screen" challenge, where you read books that have been turned into movies or tv series;
3) a "read books by MC&T group author" challenge, where you read x number of books by our own group's authors;
4) a century of mystery, crime and thriller challenge, where you read one book per decade over the last 100 years.

We'd love to hear your ideas and would welcome your participation in helping them to launch.

Janice (janiceb) | 25 comments I love the book to screen idea. It's something I wanted to suggest because of my love of both books and film. Thanks to the International mystery series on PBS I've gotten to learn and love many European mystery writers. I'm also very intrigued by the idea of writers over the decades. We could start with "The Woman in White"!

Thanks, Janice! Would you like to help set up either or both of them? BTW, I love The Woman in White.
