Right after IAG?
Right after IAG?
Completed A Flight Of Pigeons. 3 Stars out of 5.
Heavy expectations ruined it. Starting was promising, but then became full. Overall an okay-ish read.

Wanna start an interesting classic, but have no idea what should I pick. Any suggestions?

If you havent read it and you have time its a super fun read..but its a tome though !!

after finishing it pl read, The Count of Monte Ctrstoe, The man in the Iron Mask, black tulip etc etc by Dumas
Making slow processes in India After Gandhi. Surely it will take a lot of time. Can't digest more than few pages in a single sitting +_+
Aparna, Monte Cristo and 3 Musketeers, both are in my tbr. As it seems, India After Gandhi will take a lot of time. And right after it CnP, which is also a tome. My schedule won't allow so many tomes at a time. I think I'll read them later.
Right now picked Lolita. My first by any Russian author.
Lol its - one has to be tough to read through it.
I could complete it only the second time round.

Loved it! Not an easy read but for the topic, not the writing style or the language.
Read 4-5 chapter of Lolita, and, the language is, indeed, beautiful. Reads like a poetry.
Sp far no problem.

Making very slow progress with Lolita. India After Gandhi is going great.
Just on implusive decision started Siddhartha (a re-read actually).

I was just listening to Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die" album, and there I noticed a song named Lolita. Alas, the song has nothing to do with the book, although the song is amazing. But another song, "Off To The Races" had lrycis like "lights of my life, fire of my loins" that suddenly caught my attention, since it's the first line of the book. I listened to it carefully, and there are some similarities with the book's character and the song. Searched a lil bit and found that this song is indeed inspired by Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita.
PS: The album is awesome. Lyrics are great. I'm addicted to it. Any fan here? ;)

To miss it was inevitable, Gorab, since all day and night I'm listening to this album.

Oh, it's great it. We are loving it.
Informative? Hell, yes!!
Also, it is NOT biased towards INC and Nehru. I repeat, it's NOT partial towards any political party (or family) and any political idea. *wink*

Hey guyz, with the arrival of re-reading, do you think your re-reading will improve?
I mean I've decided that from next year, I'll make sure to re-read at least 5 books. Any plans you made?
PS: Currently re-reading Siddhartha!! A tricky novel ;)

Even though there were not such books in my childhood (those boring course books, curse them!!), I survived through it due to few comics and short stories printed in newspaper. I always knew I loved to read, but 2 years ago, during my first year of engineering, by "Train to Pakistan", I embarked on a journey that literally changed my life.
This year I'm gonna try different genres, some of them out of my comfort zone, therefore recos will be much needed. Also in 2016, I read less classics compared to 2015, so I am aiming to read more classics this year. Also more non-fics.
Expectations-
Total- 50 books (4/50)
Non-fics- 10 (at least)
Classics- 10 (at least)
Remaining 6 novels of RKN
2 books that have 800+ pages
Books that I MUST finish before 2017
Delhi by Khushwant Singh
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
Kanthapura: Indian Novel by Raja Rao
Godan by Munshi Premchand
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (a re-read)
The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (a promised BR with Gorab)
The Story of My Experiments With Truth by Mahatma Gandhi
