Amy had her final confrontation with her grandfather but Dallas ended up being the one to kill him. Was it probably better for her in the long run that she wasn't the one having to end him?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments Yes, it was better that she didn't end up killing him. I wondered through the whole book why she needed to confront him to begin with, what she really hoped it would accomplish. She knew that digging up the past put her in a lot of danger and got her kidnapped, it is hard to conceive that she thought he would have any family feelings for her.

I had a feeling that when she came face-to-face with him she'd have a whole new set of feelings. It was a really good thing that she wasn't the one to kill him and have all those conflicting emotions for the rest of her life.

Quynh (quynh_o) | 134 comments She had a hard time as it is killing that assassin so I don't think she would handle knowing she killed her grandfather. So it was a good thing that Dallas pulled the trigger.

I agree with Anita that there wasn't any fulfilling outcome of her confronting him but maybe she needed that closure to get justice for her mom. They did do it for the greater good so I guess it was worth it in the end.

I think that confrontation with her grandfather provided some level of closure, just not what she was expecting. In that moment, she recognized he had no humanity and it saddened her. Amy now knows the awful truth and can move on.
