Would you agree that there's a strong sense of setting in this story? If so, how much of a factor is it in the overall storyline?

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I think the setting was handled very well. I'm not particularly fond of the cold and I got a very vivid sense of the cold climate in this small northern town. Molly jumping into freezing water after her saunas blew my mind. I just can't comprehend that at all, lol.

I'm not a cold-weather person at all! The climate of this region felt like another character or a plot element. The author most definitely created a strong sense of setting, especially in the climax.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments It really did feel like another character.

Mary Beth | 193 comments I am not a winter person at all but I do love to snuggle with a blanket drink some hot chocolate and read about the freezing climate. I do agree that the weather is another character.

I am finding this so slow. I do like it but I am struggling with it. I decided to look at the questions to get me more interested in the story. I am at 46 % and it is starting to get good and hoping it stays that way. I will answer more questions after I read the book.

I loved the descriptions of the setting...while I don't care for snow and ice it does sound lovely if you are used to it, lol.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I've been obsessed with watching Youtube videos of people who live in tiny houses (on wheels) lately, lol. I watched one last night with a woman who lives in her tiny home somewhere in a very woodsy part of Wyoming. She basically had to dig a path around the perimeter of her house and the snow was shoulder to waist height! I immediately thought, "Nope, that's why I won't ever live in a cold weather climate."

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 563 comments Mod
I will have to check that out, lol.

That's just awful. Not sure I'd want to live in a tiny house in the wilds of Wyoming. Makes no sense.

No, sounds a bit scary
