Thought I'd check in after being away for forever. Did anyone else do the Spirit Awards? :D

I won't make the swag bags and I'm SUPER BUMMED! I had to switch banks and they LITERALLY took two weeks to do it and my debit card hasn't arrived! I'm seriously one step away from the fetal position

No worries RL. Brit put your book on the sheet- so even if it didn't make the bag- every one of the bags will have your name and book cover in it. Each bag is getting two to three books each, but they are all getting the sheet.
FYI- if you watch the show, every person presenting awards will receive a bag before the show starts. That means, anyone giving out an award on the stage will have someone's book in their bag. Who's going to watch the show?

We didn't have a lot of bags there- but they went out.

The swag bags are something Carole does for award shows and she gave us all the opportunity to include our books in the bags that celebrities get before the shows. All the author supplies are however many copies of their books they want to add to the bags and send them on over.

The post office was closed yesterday but I am overnighting them so they will be there tomorrow!

I see, do you choose which event you want your book included in?
About how many copies are required?

No requirement- you can put as many books as you want per event. Most people are sending two or three copies- so I had Brit make a sheet with everybody's name. This way- even if they don't get the book, it may interest them when they read the sheet.
I've said this before- I don't know if it impacts sales, but it can't hurt. You never know who is going to read it and perhaps pass it on.

R.L. I didn't make the swag bags either for my novel "Weeping Well." But maybe next time I hope. So don't feel bad, you weren't the only one.

Yeah- I think Oscars are this weekend. They printed all the sheets. We start award season in September with the Emmys.

Since nothing spectacular happened with the Emmys I figured it's best to see how it works for others

They are so busy there right now and the rain has made a lot of extra work for them. This is an especially big night for us- so they will have prepared stuff early. I am expecting them to fill close to 200 bags.

I will be watching the show on Sunday. It'll be fun knowing our books are there.

I'd really like to share the image with all the books on it but have been checking social media and haven't seen that one shared yet. Is it better to share a different image, or is it okay?

I'll be watching this weekend! Exciting to know how it all works and that they'll already have our books by the time it starts.
