Mark Gray | 5 comments Here's the synopsis of my latest novel, The Day I Disappeared:
Barry Evans is a small town hero with an amazing wife, talented son and a promising career. Everything about his life is perfect.

The only problem is that he might not exist.

These memories reside inside the mind of a man that everyone keeps calling Grant Weston. Grant and his wife are separated, he’s disconnected from his daughter and he’s just woken up in a jail cell after being brought in on a drunken disorderly charge. He’s considerably less successful than Barry with a laundry list of problems to contend with.

Grant doesn’t remember any of this because his head is full of nothing but the memories he formed as Barry Evans. As far as he knows, that’s reality--wherever he’s ended up is some kind of cruel joke. Riding home with a woman claiming to be his wife, he’s desperate to find answers no matter how crazy he sounds trying to figure things out.

Her response? “You’re not gonna try to blame aliens again, are you?”

It turns out that Grant has been acting strange long before Barry Evans woke up as him. Sneaking off to meet with strange friends, claiming to be an alien abductee, becoming more detached than usual…

Waking up to such unusual circumstances, Barry’s not sure what to think about anything, including who he really is. Is his mind filled with false memories? Are aliens real and behind this bizarre situation? Can he travel back to his old life or somehow find happiness in this one?

The Day I Disappeared uses an unbelievable scenario to examine universal conflicts related to identity, success, love and family. Whether you’re a big sci-fi fan or not, you’ll find plenty to connect with in this paranoid thriller that will keep you engaged and guessing until the end.

If you're interested, I'd love to send you a .pdf version. Please message me with the best email address to send it to. Thanks!

Mathew W Weaver (mathewwweaver) | 1 comments Hey there. I'd much appreciate a review for my fantasy fiction, Mules, Knaves and Close Shaves. Blurb below.

Change comes in one way or another to the life of every man. However, when Alan Daele, a rut-stuck travel agent, finds himself whisked away to another world seconds after what’s probably the last shower he’ll take for a long while, he’s about to find out that change just might be a tad overrated.

Dragged into a world so bizarre, it’s almost normal; having only his towel as his garb and a razor his weapon, he’s forced on a Quest to – of course – defeat an evil Tyrant.

After all, for what other reason could he be here in the first place?

With uncanny companions to guide the way, he’s also supposed to defeat said tyrant by unleashing the powers of Rock, Paper or Scissors… just because that’s apparently how things are done here.

With no one he can trust and a price on his head... come what may, all Alan can do is keep moving forward. For all he knows, that’s his only ticket home

Mules, Knaves and Close Shaves is a roller coaster from the get go, a hilarious and weirdly tear jerking tale of a man just wanting to go back home.

I have a pdf copy, and will be happy to email it whichever address you need it to go. Thank you!

I have a new contemporary romance/suspense out right now. Here is the link:
Sunset Reads Damian & Layla (Sunset Reads, #2) by D.C. Triana
Sunset Reads: Damian & Layla

Here's a short excerpt:
He smiled wickedly and leaned in, bringing his face only inches away from hers. “What do you want to know, Miss Reece?”
Layla stared at those full, sensual lips, warmth spreading through her.
“Everything,” she replied breathlessly, her eyes widening when she realized she had spoken aloud.
He stared back at her parted lips while she spoke, and fought the urge to close the distance between them. After a brief moment, he smiled and leaned back. “I can tell you that I’m an only child. I can also tell you I grew up here in New York. In Brooklyn. Joined the military at eighteen.”
“How did you get recruited into the FBI?”
“I was a translator in the Special Ops unit. I graduated with two majors-”
“Two majors! Wow!” Her eyes showed genuine admiration.
“Don’t seem so surprised…” he teased.
“Oh…no…it’s just that, well you don’t really seem like…” she trailed off, not sure how to continue.
“Like a book worm?” He smiled.
“Well. Yes.” She played with her napkin nervously, her nerves catching up to her.
“And how do I seem, Miss Reece?”
Layla was briefly stumped by the question, but then pursed her lips in contemplation, mischief shining in her eyes.
“Rough around the edges,” she paused, taking in his demeanor, “definitely reserved…” Her eyes traveled along his strong jawline, making her way across his broad shoulders, and pausing slightly on the muscles of his chest before she brought her eyes back up to meet his. “Powerful,” she whispered.
He leaned in again. “Is that all?”
She smiled, a glint of amusement in her eyes. “Very Intelligent,” she finished, and took a sip of her drink, taking a quick glance at him beneath lowered lashes.
He stared at those green eyes. “You’re very observant, Miss Reece, and surprisingly rather bold.”
She smiled. “So I’ve been told.”
His eyes narrowed dangerously. “Have you also been told that you are very sexy, and that just by a glance from those emerald eyes you can make a man think deliciously, dark thoughts?” His voice was low and seductive.

If you'd like I can send you a free pdf copy. You can contact me at dctriana82@gmail.com

Jiri Soukup | 6 comments Hi all,

My name is Jiri Soukup and I am a sea captain and author of the novel On Moving Mountains, a "A Great Love Story, an Exciting Escape Story and a Fascinating Portrait of Czechoslovakia of the Late Sixties".

I'm looking for someone willing to read and send a honest review for my book.

Here is a short description of the plot:

When searching for true love, Michal and Danna face immense obstacles and stir up a lot of trouble. This tale of passion from a little known segment of European history involves spy-like plotting, wars, and personal ambition. The beliefs of the protagonists conflict with the existing laws, and all this leads to a gripping adventure that crosses borders and continents. Yet this is a poetic and often funny story. Michal and Danna are in love and, for them, life is beautiful even when the world is collapsing around them. Their life journey is presented in four parts which differ in pace and mood like in a symphony. Could they remain separated, forever? Will they go to prison? Will the children who lost their fathers eventually find them? Start this book, and you won’t stop until you reach the end.

I also invite all of you to enter my giveaway here:

Thank you and best regards,
Jiri

As Silke’s powers begin to grow she finds herself caught in the middle of a tug-of-war between both a subdivision of the U.S. government known as Shadow Company, and a ruthless terrorist organization known as The Sin Squad. Both entities want the “enhanced” for their respective teams with Silke as the main prize. To disguise her famous face, and protect those that she loves, Silke invents an alter ego. Karma is born of necessity to decide the fate of those who are ill-intentioned and empower others with hope. Bob Collopy (bobcollopy) | 14 comments Hi Jordan! I’d like to give you the chance to read an ARC of my book, The Phoenix Cycle.

It’s a dystopian postapocalyptic where New San Francisco is the only known city left on the planet that is still surviving the nightly ash storms. They survived by putting the American dream on steroids and have become ruthless in the process. You can get a taste of this new and warped world by watching the official book trailer below:

https://youtu.be/JVm1R6nUVjE

(This trailer was featured in a multinational event where over 100 Indie theaters screened the 1984 movie on April 4th to protest George Orwell’s realization of “Alternative Facts,” in the government.)

You will get a few other unique elements with this story:

-Every main character is secretly based on a philosopher or philosophy, but it still reads like a fictional book. So it becomes a bloody revolution of ideas. A chapter of the book has been used by the philosophical departments of Universities in Britain.

-Includes a timely prediction of what could happen if virtual reality became a form of subsidized housing by the government in order keep people complacent and housed in a more cost effective manner.

Some Beta Love:

“the book was actually really good.” - #17 Best Reviewer on Goodreads
“(The) world-building is awesome” - Hillary M.
“I think it has great potential.” -Marcus

Aliyaa Pathan Hey! My book is called Starstruck by Aliyaa Pathan.
It can be found on B&N (digital and hardcover) and amazon. Make sure to search up my entire name, though, as that will make it easier.
Here's the description:
"The memories will destroy you. The visions will kill you. And the dreams will become your prison."

In the year 3103, the world has been divided between the magic wielding Fey and glamorously futuristic Tech. But none of that matters when you are cursed without abilities like Jessica. Having lost her parents long ago to an event called the Surge, Jessica and her younger sister Ivy are sent to live with their stepmother for seven painful years... Until Jessica receives a message to become one of seven Possessors of the Keys to the KindNet.

Feasts, luxury, best friends, and a special ability that was hidden in Jessica for so long. But the Possessors' Headquarters is not what it seems, and it will take more than waking up to escape this nightmare...

Fear, betrayal, and anger will come together to make this sci-fi fantasy novel, where your shadow is your worst fear.

I hope you enjoy! :-) Thanks!

Rajat Mitra | 5 comments Hi I am Rajat Mitra and an author of the book called 'The infidel next door'. If stories of bildungsroman, coming of age stories interest you then you may find my book interesting. My book is around characters who are Hindu and Muslim children growing up to adulthood in a temple and a mosque existing side by side in Kashmir and one that unleashes powerful forces beyond their control that shapes who they become. When a movement trying to establish an Islamic Kashmir by throwing out the Hindus begins in Kashmir, fanaticism and mass violence starts to take over their land and leads them to confront their inner selves for answers not available in their religious texts.

I am a debutante author and would like my book to be reviewed. The book is based on my years of experience of working in communities facing exile, mass violence and trauma.

The book is available on amazon.com and all other portals of amazon both as paperback and kindle version.

Synopsis of the book

The Infidel Next Door is a saga of the undying spirit of a man while facing loss and betrayal in the name of religious persecution. It is set in the period before the seventh and last exodus of Hindus from Kashmir in 1989.
When Aditya, a Hindu priest, is asked to go back to a temple in Kashmir where his ancestor was killed for refusing to convert to Islam, he decides he must go. Though the attacks - both on his family and on the temple - occurred three centuries ago, the wounds are yet to heal.
When he arrives, he discovers a mosque has been built next door where Anwar, the imam’s son, is becoming a fanatic to escape memories of a humiliation.
As seen through their eyes, the novel describes the anguish and terror when Anwar slowly begins to see his relationship to God as the only true one and gives in to the demand of his mentor to throw out hundreds of thousands of Hindus to create a Kashmir without infidels.
A story so steeped in haunting imagery of a once beautiful land and its forgotten people, it brings to fore one of the deepest fear of our times that when a man gets caught up in a struggle over religious fundamentalism, does his conscience still remain a force to decide his ultimate choice?

Christian Nadeau | 6 comments Hi Jordan,

I know you wrote you love fantasy, but I'm not sure my novel would be something you'd be interested in. Anyway, I'm posting this and you'll be free to let me know if you'd like me to ship a paperback copy your way or not.

My novel is titled "Seeds of Hatred", it's a dark themed adult fantasy novel of some length (180k words). The main theme is vengeance, how we can forget to live on and miss living out our lives because of it.

Here's the blurb:
As a former assassin, a man on the run for years, Marac survived taking on odd jobs, living on society’s fringe, never putting down roots for fear of having to run again. Until he’s hired to steal a trinket from the Brotherhood.

Newly graduated, Soren is ready to shoulder the responsibilities that come with an officer’s commission. Serving in the Brotherhood of Khan is a privilege, one he abandoned everything for. But when an Angel calls on him, he knows his first assignment is more than it seems to be.

As a Lightbearer, gifted with the power to shape light to her will, Alex lived a sheltered life in Tyranor’s monastery. Should the Brotherhood find out what she was, they’d kill her, but the monastery is underground, safely hidden from their prying eyes.

Then it all comes crashing down. A terrible game is played, and when the powerful move, pawns are doomed to be sacrificed.

Are they?

Laura Pritchard | 8 comments Hi there!

My name is Laura Pritchard and my first book, Monarchy, has just been published on amazon. I would love a review if that is possible? My book is a science fiction, dystopia setting, with a young adult/adult.

Monarchy

Length: 184 pages

Synopsis:

In the times after the reformation, the leaders of the new world have created the perfect society. There is no exaggerated wealth or famishing poverty. There is no starvation or crime or disease. The citizens of the sectors are secure and well nourished, forever protected by the life the Monarchy have so gracefully afforded.

No one mentions the things that are lacking. Constance thinks about it often.

At the age of sixteen, Constance is snatched from her family in a twisted ceremony called 'Removal.' Forced to reside in the Citadel, the fortress of the Monarchy, she faces a brutal induction to evolve into a soldier of the Brigade; sworn peace keepers of the sectors. While she grapples with the feeling of revolution that rage in her mind, Constance is trained by Calloway, the guard with an elusive past who shadows her every move.

Remaining peaceful, however, is the last thing on the minds of the inhabitants of sector six. Uprisings and rebellions are common place with her own kinsfolk being injured and killed as a consequence. When the time comes, Constance must decide which side she will choose in a battle that will determine her future. It is a choice that she should never have to face; weighing her own life against the lives of those that she loves.

This is my first novel so am a bit new to the field but would love some honest critique. If you need any more information and would like a free copy, please feel free to email me on laura_jayne_15@hotmail.com

Many thanks,

Laura.

Thomas Qualls (thomaslloydqualls) | 3 comments Hi Laura,

I am not sure whether you prefer to receive requests here, or through PM. But I'll opt for the more formal version for now. If you would like more information, please feel free to send me a PM.

My name is Thomas Lloyd Qualls, and I am writing to request a review of my literary fiction novel, Waking Up at Rembrandt's. Here's the brief synopsis:

Maggie is a discouraged lawyer, Dillon, a heart-broken vagabond, and Phillip, a frustrated writer. Their stories are told by the mysterious Jillian, part purveyor of spirits and part spiritual guru.

Inside the walls of cafe rembrandt, where whipping fresh cream is an act of poetry and pouring a drink an act of faith, we fall under Jillian’s spell. With a voice that is lyrical and immediate, she artfully trails her Ariadne thread to lead her devotees back into the light.

Waking Up at Rembrandt’s is a fresh take on the tale of awakenings. It celebrates the sensual, as well as the spiritual, effortlessly bridging the two worlds.

The novel combines prose and poetry, fiction and spirituality, and dreams and reality in a manner that is at once unconventional and irresistible. Blending the epicurean delights of Peter Mayle, the travel adventures of Hemingway, the spiritual teachings of Krishnamurti, and the magical realism of Isabel Allende, Waking Up at Rembrandt’s takes literary fiction into new territory.

I can send you a print copy or an ebook. Thank you for your consideration.

Robert Rapoza | 12 comments Hi Jordan,

First, on behalf of all of the writers here, thank you for offering to read and review our books!

I have a book that crosses genres, it's an action adventure/thriller with very light sci-fi aspects (Think Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull). My book is The Bermuda Connection The Bermuda Connection and it's the second in a series. Here's a quick blurb to give you an idea of what it's about:

Archeologist Nick Randall is haunted by a recurring nightmare that may be tied to his controversial research. When he searches for answers, assassins nearly kill him, forcing him into hiding. Nick’s son, John, a talented Bioengineer, faces his own mystery. Having developed a drug that erases traumatic memories, his research partner disappears. While searching for him, mercenaries try to kidnap him and steal his research. John narrowly escapes, only to find he is now a wanted man.

Their paths cross when they are both drawn to a mysterious woman on the Island of Bermuda. Jamie Edmunds may hold the key to solving their mysteries, but others are searching for her as well. Caught between two deadly forces, Nick and John must help Jamie escape and unravel the riddle before their enemies find them. They discover clues that lead them from the murky waters of Bermuda, to the barren wastes of Antarctica. There, they make a discovery that will change mankind forever. The three are humanity’s only hope of preventing the forces of darkness from unleashing a horrific weapon on humanity.

If you're interested in reading it, I would be happy to gift you a copy from Amazon or to send you a PDF.

Thanks for considering,

Robert Rapoza

Daniel Kemp (goodreadscomdanielkemp) | 15 comments Hello Jordan! My debut novel in 2012, The Desolate Garden, was optioned to become a $30 million film within two months of its release. After five years the distribution of the film became one hurdle too many and my dream crashed. Two months ago I signed a new contract with a publishing house who are now in the process of reissuing all my work. This is a message on their website: All published Creativia books are free to reviewers... http://www.creativia.org/for-reviewer... ..... I'm hoping you might take a look at one of mine. Thank you for reading this.

Tom Behr) (tom_behr) | 23 comments Hi Jordan
I would greatly appreciate a review of my historical novel, The Most Bold and Daring Act of the Age, set in Algeria during the Napoleonic Wars. My main character, Henry Doyle, a former British spy who converted to the Sufi practice of Islam, comes out of retirement in 1815 at age 55 to stop Napoleon after his escape from Elba and return to power as Emperor. His wife Dihya, warrior princess of the fiercely-independent Tuaregs of North Africa, is furious at his headstrong decision.

It turns out he should have listened to his wife. He winds up a prisoner, tortured in the dungeons of his enemy, Vizier Hashin.

His half-brother Peter Kirkpatrick, a dazzlingly-successful American privateer captain, sets out on a daring, but fool-hardy rescue attempt. Meanwhile his wife Dihya, unaware of Peter's attempt, determines to save Henry the only way she can think of - by becoming a slave in Hashin's harem. Her weapons are sex, her courage and her razor-sharp shreu dagger.

If you're interested, please email me and let me know whether you'd prefer paperback, ebook, or pdf file. Thanks, tom.behr@verizon.net
