Sally906 | 87 comments Brenda wrote: "Not many "NOs" in there Sally! I'd say you're True Blue ;)"

Well travelled at the very least.

Some of those NOs will never happen - like me drinking Beer (shudder) or going spotlighting/pig shooting or seeing a live Midnight Oil or Big Day Out concert.

Have paddled my feet at Bondi Beach - but don't go in the sea at all - too many big things that can bite/eat me

but others are on the to do list - so will happen eventually - like crossing the Nullarbor and climbing Sydney Harbour bridge, going whale watching and seeing a Quokka (Rottnest Island visit needs to be planned - maybe same trip we cross the Nullarbour)

And if I drink enough wine I may even recite the man from snowy river in public - LOL!!!

Have seen a shark (not in captivity) - Bastards are always stealing my speared bounties.

Rode camels on a beach/across sand dunes - Not the fancy places, just through the central desert.

Seen the Great Australian Bight in person - As above, although I have done it slower before as well!

Visited Parliament House. (Old or New) - As a kid.
Gone spotlighting or pig-shooting - Yes, but not shooting.

Patted a pure-bred dingo - Pure enough.

Ever seen the Dog on the Tucker-box at Gundagai - Yes
Ever seen/been in a cyclone - Yes
Watched the movie Red Dog - No
Watched Crocodile Dundee at least once - Of course, I usually go around calling people galahs afterwards.
Seen more than one "BIG" item - Big Banana, Big Pineapple, Big Salmon - They force me to pull over for a break!
Eaten a Wendy's ice cream - Yes, don't see how eating at a chain makes me Aussie, I've also eaten a burger from Hungry Jacks!
Met at least one Australian author - Yes!
Stopped at a roadhouse - And slept at a few!
Watched a Hugh Jackman film - Yes, and Wolverine's resort is around the corner from my father's house.

Going to add a few extras to the list that should be there:

Own(ed) a landcruiser - Love my troopy!
Been the only one to catch fish on a fishing trip - Only when fishing with mates who take the whole thing too seriously.
Swam with sealions or dolphins - One of the best experiences ever!
Found a thorny devil in the wild - Swerved across the road, slammed the breaks on, went to go grab it, only for some bastard in a commodore run it over as I approached it.
Been to a State of Origin match - Not an official one, but went to a Legends of League with an Origin theme, that was pretty cool.
Won a meat raffle - Some of the greatest barbeques have occured shortly after such a great victory!
Been bitten by a cockatoo - An event that has made me terrified of the creatures my whole life.
Being burnt by seatbelt buckle/steering wheel - A massive pain on those 40+ days.
Been to a beach and had it completely to yourself - Best way to enjoy the country. Some pure gems on the south coast!
Been let into a pub after being cut off at another - Gotta love how that smooth 'I'm incredibly intoxicated, so I need to talk slow and concise' mentality goes over.
Bought ice from the servo on Christmas day - Definitely not something you'd do anywhere else on earth, but seems to happen frequently here!
Caught something from the ocean, then cooked and ate it right where it was brought in - Love fresh seafood!
Taken hot chips back to the counter to request more chicken salt - When returning from an international trip I can't seem to get enough

Would be keen to see what other super Aussie things people can come up with, I found a lot of things on the list seem more like things a tourist may do rather than an Aussie!

Veronica ⭐️ | 2384 comments Phrynne I think you are more Aussie than me. And I was born here.
Just can't believe you've never swum at the beach between the flags!!!

We still go to the drive-in. Actually my daughter went last week and they have built a hotel next to it so people can stay the night.

That good huh Michael?
I'm thinking I'm going to leave Vegemite up to my Aussie mates! It doesn't sound appealing at all!
So even after I receive my two Aussie dictionaries (one normal, one slang) I still will not qualify as an Aussie!
Sssshhh, don't tell anybody but I'm looking forward to 'speaking Aussie' out loud so my local friends can't understand what I'm saying! It'll be a hoot!!

That's awesome Veronica! Didn't know there were any still operating. I have very fond memories of my childhood - with Mum, Dad and siblings at the drive-in. Best time was interval when we got to play on the swings ;)
