Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) A couple of the other groups I'm in do this and I thought I would start a thread for it for this group. Lisa let me know if it's not ok!

Let's see how many pages the group reads this year! Any books read in 2017 count so if you have read it this year it counts! Post either the cover or title link of the book and the number of pages for the edition you read. If it's an audiobook just put what the page count would have been for the physical copy. Add your total to the previous total from the above users post. This is collective of the whole group though if you would like to keep up with your own total or do things like linking to your review that is perfectly fine :)

Usually the challenge is to get to 1,000,000 but as we are a smaller group I'm going to set the goal at 500,00! If we pass right on by that then yay for us!! It's supposed to be a fun challenge so no matter what number we hit midnight on December 31st it would be cool to see how many pages we have collectively read.

Group Progress:
125,000 25% of Goal
250,000 Halfway there!
500,000 Goal Met!
750,000 :D Look at us go!
1,000,000 =O

Fevre Dream - 461
The Girl with All the Gifts - 435
Crooked Kingdom - 536

My total: 1432
Group: 8808 (I'm bad at math so I hope I did that correctly)

Wow, I feel like I had read a lot more than that but I guess not haha. Not to mention I am currently reading 3 rather large books! I'll post my progress as I finish those though!

Fevre Dream by George R.R. Martin The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) by Leigh Bardugo

Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) Guilty Pleasures 332 pages

Group Total 8808 + 332 = 9140

Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton

The book of the month for February is rather hefty! I'm imagining the total will jump up if the members who read it post it to the challenge.

How did you like this? I'm in the middle of it and really enjoying it so far.

It wasn't my favorite, but I'm not a huge fan of historical fiction. I loved the H.H. Holmes chapters, but the rest of it felt a little textbook-ish to me. It was really well-written though, and I heard they're turning it into a movie, which I think will be excellent!

That would be cool! I enjoyed the book as well. I listened to it as an audio book so that kind of helped with the text-bookish parts but it was really well written. I think it would be a great movie partly because , even though it didn't really make for exciting reading, watching the Chicago World's Fair go up would be fun in my opinion.

If you all would like, I can go start a thread for a 2018 challenge and transfer that info over there? That way, it's separate from this old one.

Ok, I have got that up on the page. If you want to just copy over your post to update it and get it going, that will be great!
