Bill | 1596 comments Part 7

Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Part 7 (Chapters 29-End).

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling this for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later chapters/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine.

Bill | 1596 comments Not much to note from the last two sections. This was definitely the worst in the series so far.

So I remember enjoying the end of this more than I did. Maybe I'm confusing the end of this book with the end of the last book though.

The big takeaways for me were:

1) I enjoyed Mat's parts. Normally I'm not a big "romance" guy, but for whatever reason I liked the stuff with Tuon. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

2) Egwayne's part really picked up at the end. Between the murders of sisters by someone channeling the Male-Half of the power, the power struggle between her and the factions of the Rebels, and now her capture.

Oh and a prophetic dream of an attack by the Seanchan on the White Tower that no one wants to believe.

3) Cadsuane believes Rand is planning something "dangerous". He's sending Bashere, Logain and Loial to try to make peace with the Seanchan. Is that it, or something else? I think I know what it is from my reread, but I'm not really sure at this point.

I dont think I'd have made it through this book a second time if I wasn't doing the audio. I am however looking forward to Knife of Dreams.

I haven't decided if I'm going to do the prequel or not (not sure I want to spend the audible credit), but I'd probably jump in on the discussion either way.

Assuming you do that next, when did you want to start Knife of Dreams?

Bill | 1596 comments I'm up for doing Knife of Dreams whenever. I kind of want to just listen to the rest straight through. I'm really into seeing how this is going to wrap up.

My March is pretty busy audio-wise, but I can probably fit KoD in mid month. So far April is more open I think. Maybe 1 at the end of the month.

Bill | 1596 comments Ok will see when Sumant gets done with this one and when he can start the prequel then see if we can all g together for KoD.

I'll have time next week actually. I forgot im taking a trip at the end of the week.

Sumant | 522 comments I am finally done with COT but this book was kind of ok for me except Elyane part and second half of Mat's pov when he is trying to drown in those liquid eyes.

I am going to take a break from a WOT at least in March, will be good from April 1 if we are going to do prequel or KOD.

I think I'm skipping the prequel. Just let me know when you guys are thinking for KoD.

Sumant | 522 comments I am good for prequel from April 1 @Bill.

I'll jump on on that discussion. If that date works for Bill, I'll add it to the group shelf.
