The group voted to read the Science & Technology nominee, Idiot Brain: What Your Head Is Really Up To in March. The winner for this genre was Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?. Have you read any of the other nominees for this award? Which have you read and what did you think? Which was your favorite?

Do you plan to read any of them in the future? How about setting up a buddy read of one that you are interested in this month? Use this thread to discuss and find a buddy!

Schedule buddy reads here, then set up a separate thread to discuss.

This isn't my favorite genre. I see titles that I think look interesting, but then feel like the book could have been summarized in about 10 pages and been more enjoyable. The information tends to be interesting, but repetitive. I feel like I would be good to skim a few.

The two we have for group reads, Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are? & Idiot Brain: What Your Head Is Really Up To, both look interesting. I also think Patient H.M.: A Story of Memory, Madness, and Family Secrets looks interesting.

This is so not my interest in reading, I can't think of any year that I've read a book out of this category.

Janina (sylarana) | 692 comments I enjoy science books. However, there are way too many "animal" books which I guess appeal to more people, but are ultimately not all that interesting (to me at least). I guess I only like some science ... other science not so much ;)
Definitely going to read The Gene and I contain multitudes. Not sure about the others.

Although I'm an avid wild bird watcher... so if you don't care for wild birds, you'd likely hate it. LOL.
