Started on it. Anyone else?

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments I'm about 75 pages in, but so far these characters are not pulling me in. Anyone else's thoughts?

Shainlock | 686 comments Mod
Yeah. Maybe it would be fun to put the zombie rules as they are here? You are somewhat farther than me I think.

Shainlock | 686 comments Mod
K... lots of blather about news. I think Nancy is the farthest that I know of...

Trinity | 803 comments Mod
Anyone as annoyed by the constant repetition as I am?

Shainlock | 686 comments Mod
Oh yes.

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments Phew...I'm relieved it's not just me. I hate to say it, but I think I may just give up on this book. Like Shaina said earlier, where are the 'zombie rules'?

How is it that our government remains intact, to the point that a candidate is going out on the campaign trail? And who is maintaining the electronic infrastructure so that these bloggers can do their thing? And paparazzi lurk around restaurants waiting for sound-bytes from bloggers?

I guess I want a total breakdown of government, infrastructure, and just general man vs. man lawlessness in my zombie-infested world. (spoiled by Rick Grimes & Co. LOL)

I am so sad. I purchased the entire series because they came so highly recommended.

Michelle, that last line is perfection!

Shainlock | 686 comments Mod
I agree w Michelle, just totally. I have been wanting to say that. Love the rick & co line haha. Walking dead needs to teach these ppl a thing or two.

It's like this person has a beef with news media and loves blogging but slapped zombies in there at the last minute as an excuse. Slap them in a post-apocalyptic zombie world and it's okay to say bc it's dystopian ....
It's kinda funny too .. all the precautions they take when no zombies seem to be around anywhere.

Shainlock | 686 comments Mod
Yep. Going for good one this next time.

Shainlock | 686 comments Mod
*when zombies don't seem to be around anywhere we hear of them and that is it

Correcting earlier post.

Oh Nancy, I was hoping you would weigh in on the book too! I guess quantity doesn't necessarily correlate with quality.....

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments Shaina wrote: "Yep. Going for good one this next time."

Me too. I haven't picked it up in probably a week - time to move on. I don't remember ever not finishing a book before. But, I am totally unconcerned and guilt-free, Lol. :)

Well, you know, it happens. We're expanding our horizons so it's bound to happen. I had always seen it was very popular so I was kind of flabbergasted like Trinity.
And yeah, we gave it a real try, no shame there. Now we move on. We also have Woman in Black as a classic. Then we have April coming fast.
Gosh I still have to read Sea of Secrets and The Painted Bridge, the White Devil, the cemetery one ... so I'm kinda glad one turned out to be a dud. Been hard for me to read lately.
Cheers to all on our Gothic reading team

message 17: by John (new)

John Graham Wilson Ah, well. As one one gets older, "not finishing" happens more often. This is because new stuff fails to match up with the best. Dracula takes a lot of beating and all that silly pulp in the fantasy section only appeals to the young.

Shainlock | 686 comments Mod
Haha. Nancy.
Yeah but you don't normally get behind.
