I'm about to start chapter 5. (view spoiler)[I love the concept of a Snapshot. It's just weird to me that they send their errand boys into one. It seems like a huge duty to me. I'd want to send really responsible guys that I can trust in there.
The murders are also weird. Why throw them into the sea? Why kill people who won't be missed at all? I'm feeling as if it's some type of huge game to the murderer. (hide spoiler)]

I guess Sanderson's plan worked for me, because I was wondering if stacked Snapshots would be a thing and didn't even think that much about how hos interactions with Chaz were hinting at this plan to kill him. End spoiler: (view spoiler)[Whenever I read a Sanderson book I know that he always immensely foreshadows everything. When Davis saw the woman from the first café again I closed my Kindle and thought to myself what significance she would have but got my mind blown when it was a snapshot in a snapshot. I was wondering the same thing at that point as well. Just didn't have a good guess as to what it would mean.

I just bought Firstborn on my kindle, so I might read that soon as well. I need to catch up on Sanderson's short work!

I read Firstborn a couple months back. I didn't like that one sadly :(
If I'm remembering correctly, it had a lot of space battles and for some reason, I really don't like reading about those :/

Ah, I see. Sorry you didn't enjoy. With my limited reading in space battle stuff, I tend to enjoy them. It really depends on the story though, so we shall see.

I also didn't think Firstborn was one of my favourites of his. I'm struggling to remember the plot and only read it a few months ago. I find most space things pale in comparison to Ender's Game

I read Ender's Game years ago and was not overly impressed at the time. I would like to read it again. I don't remember much of it.

Chapter 2 (view spoiler)[ Really cool concept! The banter between the detectives is fun, I like their dynamic. I want to know more about how the police use the snapshots to solve crime. Do they just observe? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4 (view spoiler)[ An intriguing case. The discovery of the bodies is so creepy, especially because it was covered up. Maybe there's something dark about the snapshots we don't know about yet. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6 (view spoiler)[ Chaz is a little crazy and I wouldn't even be surprised if he was the murderer! Davis obviously has some family concerns that I'm intrigued by. The number of the woman Davis has got seems to be cropping up a lot, I wonder what her involvement is. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 8 (view spoiler)[ Poor Davis, not allowed to see his son. I don't know why he isn't relaying everything they found out about the school back to the real world, surely it'd be useful. It's disturbing how he killed that group, locking people allergic to bees in a room full of bees. (hide spoiler)]

From the beginning I wanted to know more about the snapshot, since a lot of detail wasn't really put into the book until later. But Chaz and Davis really pull you in with there banter back and forth. But you can tell they want to do more with being in these snapshots. And once they find the bodies and try and solve that murder it was so hard to put down you really wanted to see if they could catch the man behind those murders. But once you made it till the end I never saw that plot twist. What an amazing book. So well written!
