if the library is featured, then it would work - does the plot revolve around the library? If it's just there - the location of the body - then it's hard to see how the library is featured in the book.

Because of this sentence in the description Besides, there's a very valuable first edition shelved in the Cuttleford's library that Bernie's just itching to get his hands on. Did we neglect to mention that Bernie's a burglar? I think Bernie's planning to steal a book from the library, but I will read it and use it for Book 2 of two and find something else for book 1 if it is only the location as you suggest. I've read other books in this series and Bernie is a bookseller who can't make enough money selling books to make ends meet so he steals things, not just books.
Thanks,
Andy

sounds good. I haven't read the book, so I really have no idea whether the library itself is a feature of the book, as opposed to just the location of the book/body.

sorry, no. If a librarian only appears in one short story out of four, she isn't "featured" in the book.

Julia wrote: "Would The Librarians and the Lost Lamp work for Book 1? The Librarians don't appear to be traditional librarians and I've never seen the show it's based on."
I know nothing about the book or the show, but the reviews suggest that these are librarians of some sort, as they talk about their being armed with knowledge of books, etc. So, sounds as if it would work.

In the book, both of the main characters Y.T and Hiro Protagonist gather information for CIC, which is described as what used to be the Library of Congress before everything became privatized.
There is also a computer program in the book, called the Librarian (who looks, acts and functions like a male librarian) who helps Hiro piece together all of the information that he needs to defeat the villains; at one point the Librarian accompanies Hiro on a mission to do so.

AB clearly works for part 2, but want to check that the Queen's use of the (mobile) library (key launch of the story, and I think, from reviews, she goes there often) is OK for part 1.
Thanks!

Please see the FAQs:
"N. Can I read either fiction or nonfiction for a task?
Either fiction or nonfiction is fine, unless the task specifies that one or the other must be used."

Is this really focused on the library, or is the library just the setting for a romance? The library has to be the focus of the book, and, at least from the description, it sounds as if it's merely incidental to the romance.

Katie wrote: "I'm reading a book where the main character is a high school student who works in her school library. Would that count or would it need to be a librarian as a profession?"
It needs to be a real librarian.
Unless the book is focused around the school library, then it would work for the library as featured.

The description noted that MC is 'war orphan and junior librarian' but not sure that the book has a focus on library/librarian at all... Is it enough that the MC is described as such?

OPTION 1:
Book 1 – read a book featuring a library or librarian. If the connection is not apparent in the Goodreads description, explain the connection in your post.
AND
Book 2 – read a book with its author's initials in NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK. All initials must be used. If there is more than one author, only one author's initials must be found in the target phrase.
OR
OPTION 2: – read one book that meets both criteria for option 1.
