It really is. I really enjoyed it for the entertainment factor. Not great literature by any means, but still worth a read.

Ha! It does seem stalker-ish, but it doesn't read that way. I think that's one of the reasons I liked it so much. Had he seemed like a stalker, I wouldn't have liked it at all.
Basically, this book is about Lincoln and takes place in 1999-2000. At the dawn of the Internet/email in the workplace, he takes a job at a newspaper as an Internet Security Office, a fancy way of saying he's hired to read everyone's emails and flag them if the employees break the rules. He's conflicted about this as he feels he's invading people's privacy. Jennifer and Beth's emails constantly trip the WebFence folder because they're always emailing about personal things. After a while, Lincoln starts to develop feelings for Beth, but he's not sure how to introduce himself as everything he knows is because he's invaded their privacy.
I enjoyed this book so much. I loved Lincoln, his personality, almost everything about him. Don't worry, though. He's flawed. He's a little directionless and still suffering from a breakup 9 years ago. The conflict he had about his job and reading Beth and Jennifer's emails was a great premise for the story. Rowell did a good job at not making him seem stalker-y.
I really enjoyed getting to know Beth and Jennifer through their emails. Their voices were very distinct so I always knew who was speaking. And, I loved how "real" their voices and stories were.
My only complaint is that I wish Lincoln and Beth had met sooner than the last 30 pages. I felt like the resolution was rushed since it only took place over the last two chapters.
