Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian

Master and Commander is the first in a series of books about Captain Jack Aubrey, of the British Navy, and his friend, Stephen Maturin, surgeon and spy, during the Napoleonic Wars.

I’m almost finished the series and trying to stretch each novel out as much as possible. What a delight they have been!

1 and a half books left in the series for me. The final book (21) was unfinished and published posthumously.
