Rachel (TheShadesofOrange) (theshadesoforange) | 27 comments I just wanted to comment to say that I appreciate positioning the sequels in the later months. I need to read Fifth Season so this will give me time to read it.

Anna (vegfic) I'm happy about that too. I was going to wait until The Stone Sky to start The Fifth Season, but I guess I can live with a two month wait between books two and three.

Nicole (nicolepo) | 107 comments I've not read anything by Rick Riordan in the past. Can someone give me some pointers on the two books of his that are nominated? Is it okay to start with those series or is that a weird place to start with his universe?

I believe they both tie into his work as whole, but as new arcs. There are probably spoilers for the events of past books, such as the previous series resolutions, and a lot of characters you might not recognize. But I think if it's not something you're super worried about it should be okay. I think the overall plots are different. Someone else may have more details for you though.

Anita Reads | 43 comments There will be some spoilers of what happened in Heroes of Olympus, but if you don't mind that I don't think it will be a problem following along with any of the series.
I read the first Magnus Chase book before I finished Heroes of Olympus, and that wasn't a problem at all.

I just ordered some of the books from the shortlist that I didn't already own yesterday. I'll try to get most of the books from the library so as to safe money.

Anna (vegfic) I'm noticing a foxy theme with the March reads. I can't remember if Every Heart has any foxes, and I don't know about Savage Song yet, but the other three all have some adorable fox characters!

Therese Lyons Walsh (therese_talks_books) | 13 comments Just wondering if you need to have read Sanderson before in order to read Edgedancer? - don't think I could catch up otherwise!

Yes. Lindsey's post explains in detail.

Thanks Anna, might overlook these as I've enough reading to be catching up without taking on more :)

Linda Klinedinst (linda_klinedinst) I will be reading "The Hidden Oracle" by Rick Riordan for April and possibly be reading "A Gathering Of Shadows" by V E Schwab as well. If I don't run out of time I will also read Crooked Kingdom next month too (April).
