Something Different Challenge

As I usually read german editions, I have a question: should I take the first letter of the german word or should I translate the word to english?
E.g.: the first word in german edition is "Frühling", should I take F or should I take S (Frühling is a german word for spring)?
I'm not sure which part you mean so I'll explain each bit, better to be over explained than under, right? :)
Pick one name for each word - first word is Coffee so you could choose to spell out Cappucino, Java or Nescafe (basically any word that means coffee).
Spell it out - instead of the usual spell it out rules of first letter of the title or the author's initials, you would spell out using the first letter in the book so for example if you read Pride & Prejudice, the first line is "It is a truth universally acknowledged..." so that would be the letter I. Alternatively you can use the initials of the first character in the book to be mentioned by full name. I can't remember who it is in P&P but we'll say for now it's Elizabeth Bennett so that would be E or B. (I know it says the usual spell out rules in the introductory post but I think Sharon put that in by accident!)
Please post your list before reading - you need to decide which words (Java, Nescafe etc) you'll be spelling out before you start and not as you go along.
Have I helped at all? If not let me know and I'll try again! :)

As I usually read german editions, I have a question: should I take the first letter of the german word or should I transl..."
From other challenges (this group and other) I got so far the answer to always use the original edition - if you want (but not necessary) add the link to the english edition or if none existing provide one. For most challenges I include the link, to make life easier for my fellow readers here, but it's really much work - though it's my own doing, nobody forced me to join them all ;-)
