Was anyone else inspired to write their own Debts and Lessons using Marcus Aurelius's opening pages as an example?
I did this years ago when I first read it. I found it a good accounting of my own character traits, virtues, and ultimately values. It allowed me to identify some of my strengths to leverage and deficiencies to improve. It also resulted in my seeking out a few people to thank while they were still alive and remembering the ones that are not.
I review it every year around Thanksgiving. Being able to add a little something to it every year makes me feel like I am still making progress.
