Amy | 12921 comments Simply exceptional and unforgettable - Beautifully told and felt. 5 stars and a heart for each kingdom. I was thinking as I started to read this book, that one can't compare One to Grandmother, any more than one can compare Constellation to Tsar. And yet, guess what! By the end, I can firmly say that I loved this one more. This one I will never forget, and I consider it one to be treasured. I loved every line.

What will always stay with me, is "Some monsters are created by sorrow." This is the 5 star read I was waiting for and I savored every second.

PBT - only; for those who are potentially counting points towards challenges, this is my second quirky read, and also fits "series" as Book One for Stair Two for me, Britt Marie, will be the second. Instead of repeating this on the Climbing the Stairs Thread, I instead sent out my tracker, to post reviews once in the month folder and prevent undue clog. Especially, because I have three more reviews coming. Lets see if I can stay up just a few minutes more, so I am not rushed on the last day of February....

Jennifer Pope (jenjunum) | 902 comments Hm, interesting review. I enjoyed Ove a lot, so I think it's worth giving the author another shot. Curious if I'd agree with you or not.

I told you so ;). I have been telling people over and over again for many months that I liked this better than Ove. But people are actually listening to you. Hmmm, what does that say about my book ratings?????
