***If you do not have access to your partner's shelf, please send a friend request to your partner!***

You now have one week to decide amongst yourselves how many books you will pick for each other, and to make those choices.

You can chat with your partner either here or by PM- PREFERABLY BY PERSONAL MESSAGE SO THAT THIS BOARD IS NOT CLUTTERED UP.

Either way, all of you MUST do a post on here this week that is similar to the example that I did on the first post:

My name: Jenny
My partner: Sarah
The books picked for me: Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer The Hunt (The Hunt, #1) by Andrew Fukuda
Cinder (read 3/16/2015)- 4 stars. Intriguing premise, great characters, and a really cool retelling that was unfortunately plagued by predictability.
The Hunt (read 3/28/2015)- 4 stars. The Hunt had lots of suspense, admirable lead characters, and kept me scared and nervous.

Note that you have until the end of April to read the books and edit/fill in the information/short review at the bottom.
Have fun!

The books picked for me:
Bloody Jack Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy (Bloody Jack, #1) by L.A. Meyer Nil (Nil, #1) by Lynne Matson Avalon (Avalon, #1) by Mindee Arnett Sleeping Giants (Themis Files, #1) by Sylvain Neuvel

Nil (Nil, #1) by Lynne Matson 3 stars
For some reason, this one never really hooked me, although I loved the concept and the idea of it. I did really like Charley and Thad as well (view spoiler) It was an okay read for me.

Avalon (Avalon, #1) by Mindee Arnett 4 stars
I really liked this one! Great action/adventure/space story! I never knew what was going to happen next, great twists and turns!

Bloody Jack Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy (Bloody Jack, #1) by L.A. Meyer 4 stars!
I really enjoyed this story. I was in the mood for a "sea and pirates" adventure, and this did not disappoint! This had plenty of heart-stopping adventure and was very funny at times. I will definitely be continuing on with the series!

Sleeping Giants (Themis Files, #1) by Sylvain Neuvel 5 stars!!
LOVED this one, a great sci-fi/mystery, and I never quite knew what was going to happen next! I felt actual pain for Vincent, that man went through way too much! Can't wait to read the sequel after that ending!

My partner is the fabulous Jenny!
The books picked for me are
Birthmarked (Birthmarked, #1) by Caragh M. O'Brien - 5 stars!
The Islands at the End of the World (Islands at the End of the World, #1) by Austin Aslan - 4 stars
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris - 5 stars!

I love these picks!! Jenny and I met both Caragh and Austin last year at the Tucson Festival of Books, several times actually, and Caragh even came looking for us at one point. What a blast! I got my books signed but still haven't read them, so I'm really excited to pull them off the shelf. Since I tend to binge read, I'm sure I'll be reading the entire series as well. ;)

Melissa Lewitt | 57 comments I'm melissa.
My partner is Joycedale.
My books are.
The Throwaway Children by Diney Costeloe read 3/4 five stars, this book was hard to put down and every turn I had to know what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed it.
Big Fish by Daniel Wallace read 4/19 4 stars this book was harder for me to read. there was something about the way is was formatted that bothered me. its also possible I was comparing it to much to its theater and movie counterparts. I really enjoyed the ending thought,
The Last Dragon Home by Glenn T. Ryan DNF
optional fourth book
Sorrow's Knot by Erin Bow
read 3/7 3/5 stars. This book was very hard for me to rate. There where things I liked and did not like. I felt thought the whole book The rules where unclear. it was like playing a game without a instruction manual I had no idea what the rules where. Also several stories in the stories where repeated to the point of annoyance. What I did like was the message I got from reading the book (view spoiler)

I tried to get going on I've Got Your Number today and I've already DNFd it. I made it to about 80 pages in and it just wasn't for me. I'm thinking I'll try Where Am I Now next.

Finished Where am I Now? today and gave it 4 stars. Really interesting essays by a former child actress.

I DNF'd on Deception Point. I like his new books but the characters in the one were just awful!

I finished Birthmarked (Birthmarked, #1) by Caragh M. O'Brien a few days ago and LOVED it!! I thought I was getting weary of the dystopian genre but apparently not. And now I'm binging the rest of the series!!

So happy you picked this for me, Jenny! 5 stars!

I'm almost done with Behind Closed Doors! Wow! I'm loving the craziness!

Karen’s Library | 11320 comments Mod
Just finished Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris and wow, that was certainly a page turner! I believe I have found a new author to follow and if her next psychological thrillers are anything like this one, I'll lose sleep again turning the pages as fast as I can until the wee hours of the morning.

I tried to guess at what could lie behind the closed doors of Jack and Grace's perfect marriage and perfect life, but I didn't come close. Great twists.

5 star read for me.

Wow, Jenny, that's 2 5 star reads so far that you picked for me!

I'm starting The Islands at the End of the World (Islands at the End of the World, #1) by Austin Aslan next! :-D

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
Oh YAY Karen!! So excited to hear that, I'll have to read Behind Closed Doors now!

Karen’s Library | 11320 comments Mod
Finished my final PIFM The Islands at the End of the World (Islands at the End of the World, #1) by Austin Aslan and gave it 4 stars. I enjoyed the whole book (love apocalyptic books) except for the big reveal. If I could delete that part, it would have been a 5 star read. It reminded me of both Ashfall and Monument 14. I'm debating if I should read the second book now. I think I'd have to change my mindset of what the series is really about.

message 39: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
Karen, I was the exact same. It was a 5 star read until the end. I didn't mind the "reveal" but I thought the ending was way too easy.

The second book was not as good as the first IMO, but there's still a decent amount of action and danger and of course, the setting rocks!

Jenny, is there more about the apocalyptic side of the story? Or does it revolve around the event that caused it?

message 41: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
I'd say its about half of the apocalyptic stuff (we find out more and more about the big island) and half about the sci-fi event thingie.
