"How do you like to read? Do you gravitate toward series or do you tend to stick to stand-alone books? Do you like to read several books at once or concentrate on finishing one book at a time? And with all the new technology available, many people read their books on screens or listen to them either on their phones or on CDs. Are you a paper or screen or CD kind-of-a reader?

If you like to listen to books on the go or read them on your screens, check out our great online resources by taking a look at the eLibrary tab on our homepage! We have subscriptions to amazing services like MediaOnDemand and Hoopla, which allow you to gain access to ebooks, audiobooks, comics, and even TV shows and movies all from your computer or mobile device. For magazine readers, we also have Zinio, which has a great selection of digital magazines.

My preference is ____________________. I am currently reading ______________.

Gina (gpusater) | 2 comments My preference is to read hard copies of books. But I do love my kindle for when I'm on the train or on the go. I utilize both the library and the MediaOnDemand library quite often.

I'm currently reading the final book in the Darker Shades of Magic trilogy, "A Conjuring of Light" by VE Schwab. I'd highly recommend it to fans of fantasy. The covers are also beautiful. I bought them all (after first renting from the library and loving them) because the covers are works of art. I'm dying to talk about the newest book with someone, but no one I know has read them!

When I'm not reading non-fiction, my preference is to read several books at once, and I tend to gravitate toward series. I am currently reading The Mists of Avalon: technically the first in Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon series, but also a standalone novel.
I never intend to read series because of the commitment and inevitable heartache that follows the completion of said series, yet I am somehow pulled into them.
I'm a fan of audiobooks and e-books being a bedtime and workout reader.
I would love to be the kind of reader that can focus on one book at a time, yet I have some difficulty maintaining discipline when I see a great title!

Kristen | 7 comments I tend to be a one book kind of gal. I don't read many books because I'm still in school, though when I read for pleasure, I gravitate toward print. But when I read for school, it tends to be a lot of PDFs online that I'll read on my laptop rather than print out. I've discovered that I don't quite have the attention span for audiobooks as I try to listen to them while doing something else, then I get distracted and realize I haven't been listening for the last ten minutes! I hope to make more time to read for pleasure in the future and am not currently reading anything for fun now.
