If you are willing to place one of your April reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than Mar 28th .

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by March 31st.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your April book.

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments In my TBR pile, I have several works that are in a series, a box-set, or a collection. When you choose one for me, I am obligating myself to read the set. That should clear out the cobwebs. Here is the best part… I am keeping a copy of this list and will continue to submit it, with each new ‘Someone Else Pick It For Me’ month, until I clear out my dusty TBR pile. I am tired of freezing up every time I try to decide where I want to start. Hey, I think this will be fun. It doesn’t matter where we start… in a few months this list… ‘will be back’… sorry, couldn’t help it.

1) Darcy’s Ultimatum [The Cousins Book 1] by Jennifer Joy
2) Progression Vol. 1: by Jodi L. Covey
3) Chosen [Leaving Bennet Behind Book 1] by Sarah Johnson
4) On Oakham Mount [Pemberley Departures Book 1] by Sophia Meredith
5) Memory [A Tale of Pride & Prejudice Book 1] by Linda Wells
6) Another Darcy [4-book Collection/Variations] by Jane Grix
7) Pride and Prejudice Sequels [3 Jane Austen Inspired Novellas] by Cheryl Bolen
8) Darcy and Elizabeth What If? [Collection 1 (Books 1-3)] by Jennifer Lang
9) A Fair Prospect [Volume l, ll, & lll] by Cassandra Grafton
10) Dearest Friends [Austen Inspired Romance Book 1] by Pamela Lynne
11) Meryton Matchmakers [Book 1] Kristi Rose
12) Denial of Conscience by Cat Gardiner
13) Elizabeth, Darcy and Me [Book 1] by Georgina Young-Ellis

Help me PLEASE!!!

What's the deadline on submission of lists this month?

I usually choose books which are not free under my KU membership.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Oh, yes please! I had such a wonderful experience with the Someone Else Pick It for Me—February, that I am eager to go another round. (A note that several of these are period more than truly Austenesque, but I interpret the challenge broadly.)

1. Stephanie Barron, Jane and the Waterloo Map
2. Sherwood Smith, Rondo Allegro
3. Trevor Yorke, Georgian & Regency Houses Explained
4. Stefan Scheuermann, Say It Like Miss Austen: A Jane Austen Phrase Thesaurus
5. Anna Faversham, Under a Dark Star
6. Alison Goodman, The Dark Days Club
7. Mimi Marinucci, Jane Austen and Philosophy
8. Trudy Wallis, Longbourn Library: A Novel of Pride, Prejudice, and Books
9. Josie Case, Proud and Prejudicial: A Modern-Day Reimagining
10. Carrie Bebris, The Matters at Mansfield: Or, The Crawford Affair

message 11: by Anji (new)

Anji | 275 comments Now that I've completed my spreadsheet, I've discovered an awful lot of unread books that I've had on my Kindle since 2014! These are all from that year and I've limited it to one per author.

01. Pride & Prejudice & Assassinations by Leo Charles Taylor
02. Darcy's Days by Fitzwilliam Darcy
03. The Trials of the Honorable F. Darcy by Sara Angelini
04. Swimming in Rain by Heather C. Myers
05. Another Place in Time by Mary Lydon Simonsen
06. Steampunk Darcy by Monica Fairview
07. Yours Affectionately, Jane Austen by Sally Smith O'Rourke
08. Assumed Engagement by Kara Louise
09. 1932 by Karen M. Cox
10. Foundation of Love: The Gypsy Blessing 2 by Wendi Sotis

There's a lot more where these came from, so I'll add a new one to this list each time around.

message 12: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments We have new people joining.... yeah!

Now, I am not supposed to be adding NEW books to my list. My goal is to remove OLD books. Y'all are tempting me beyond my limits to resist. No fair. My inner brain is saying 'I will resist, I will resist.' However, my Amazon gift card is saying, 'resistance is futile.' Yeah, it's a battle.

Anji, that's a pretty good list there.
Ooh, Abigail, you always have interesting titles.
Dang, Elmo, I've not seen some of those.
Shucks, Sophia, you have a few I've not read.
Man... how am I going to reduce my pile if I keep being tempted by y'all's list?
This is so not cool!!!

And the good news is that Jeanne will be a life-time member of Austenesque Lovers TBR Pile challenge. LOL

I feel the same way, though, when I read everyone else's lists.

message 14: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments A little of what you fancy, they say, does you good,Jeanne!! Treat yourself to one or two of these books that you simply can't resist! Your heart will yearn for more but your mind will remind you that two is enough.........and there's always tomorrow if you really need to burn a hole in that Amazon card of yours. Enjoy!

Chelsea | 46 comments I finished my Feb pick earlier this month but still haven't posted a review (hope to get to that next!). I'm game for April as well though. Here are some physical books that have been on my self unread for a while:

1. Longbourn
2. An Assembly Such as This
3. A Weekend with Mr Darcy
4. The Watsons & Sandition (putting this duo as a single option since they're both short, unfinished works)
5. A Jane Austen Education: How Six Novels Taught Me About Love, Friendship, and the Things That Really Matter

message 41: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 6 comments Sorry I have been MIA. I have been reading but remiss in my follow-ups. Will catch up soon. I am going to have to sit April's challenge out. Hubby is having shoulder surgery. I am preparing to have major spinal surgery as soon as he is healed. I have severe stenosis and they will be removing bone and adding rods and screws. I will be out of work for 3 months.

Yikes! Yeah, I guess so Debbie. Hopefully hubby's surgery and recovery will go well and then your own big one.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments OMG. I will add you and your husband to my prayers. So sorry to hear about something so major needing attention. We will miss you but you take care as best you can.

message 44: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Oh Deborah, bless your heart, I am so sorry about y'all surgeries. My goodness, I hope you will have help. We had home health come to the house when my husband had his heart surgery. They were invaluable. My Mr. Darcy [taciturn and stoic] would at least listen to them. Mr. Darcy on meds was a whole 'nother person.

Yeah... as to your surgery... best of luck. At some point, I hope you can get some reading done. We'll be thinking of you and hope you can pop on line to let us know how you are doing. Blessing my friend, you'll be in our prayers.

message 45: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Just like you to take care of him before you take care of yourself, Deborah! Your back sounds pretty desperate. I’m not far off from a similar procedure, so my thoughts will be with you—and I hope you’ll keep us updated as you progress. We’re rooting for you!

message 46: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Deborah-wishing both you and your hubby the best of luck with your surgeries. Here's hoping they're successful and that a long life of health'n' happiness awaits you both. I'll be thinking of ye.
