Jeremiah Mccoy (jeremiahtechnoirmccoy) | 80 comments I will put aside the discussion of the toxic hero to other threads. He is not likable, but that is not what I am talking about here.

The thing I am addressing is the science of living in space. I was aware for a while of the problems of living in low g, but being a huge fan of the Expanse (Books and show), has kept it at the front of my brain. That said, the people on Gateway do not seem to have any trouble living in low gravity environments for extended periods of time. They have all the "hey this is cool" parts of living in low g, but none of the bone degradation, heart damage, radiation exposure, or other problems of long-term space living. Part of that is from the fact that a lot of that was not a clearly known when the book was written, but it still takes me out of the book a bit.

Jason | 4 comments I was about a quarter of the way through the book when I realized it was written in 1977. I assumed it was written 20 years earlier.
