I'm about six or seven
It is summer, perfect heat, birds chirping, frogs jumping. I am wearing my short sleeved tangerine orange shirt. I have shorts on, they are the color of night blue. My grandmother parked her car on the street. I see Carloses house next to mine. Cigarettes are squished on the ground.
I see Maria's house. She has a pool in her backyard. I wish I could swim in it. " Munchkin , want to get icecream," my grandmother says, her dark red haired bouncing with her as she spoke. Me and my sister nod, we love icecream. We walk across the block. We watch the sooner players practice on the grassy field. A small icecream shop stood before us. Me and my sister run in. The shop owner is on the other end. Wearing an apron to keep his clothes clean. He asks me what I would like. I point to the orange flavored pop up popsicle. My grandmother pays for our icecream. I run across the street. Happy and cheerful. I run below the maple trees and above the grass. I sit on my porch and eat the pop up icecream.
I watch seagulls fly and land on electric bars, they're not getting electrocuted. My sister sits with me. What a perfect evening

Let me, let me
Youngest deer
Let me, let me
Shoot you here
Don't run
I hold the gun
But let me, let me
Shoot you here
So silent
Yet graceful
In the wind
So weird
Yet paceful
To the wind
Oh doe, oh deer
Let me, let me
Shoot you here
.........
I see it, you stay, I pull the trigger, the bullet, shall play,
I wanted you to live
What have I done
Oh dear, this is
No Fun

In Winter, the wind blows against my face
as I go sledding.
It howls and zips. Snow covers the
City like sand hiding fossils.
Some buildings have sharp ends, so sharp that
giants could use them as swords.
Some are flat, so flat that giants could
use them as stamps.
In Spring, the flowers bloomed with yellow
pollen coming out like confetti.
The trees slowly grow their
color, becoming less dull.
I swing on the swing as I hold
on to the rough metal chains.
In Summer, animals awaken like
a spell to sleep for 100 years has been broken.
The heat covers me like
a blanket.
I ride on my bike, the sun beams
on me like a spotlight.
In Fall, the leaves fall off and pile
together like they’re trying to plan something.
I jump into the pile interrupting their plotting and
separating them from each other.
I giggle and laugh while the wind helps the leaves
find a more peaceful place.
Then the Seasons rewind and
it starts over again

Self-Portrait
My wavy hair is like thick long brown string, golden at the end, with curls like the calm ocean waves.
My gigantic eyes are like humongous brown gems that sparkle in the sunlight, full of wonder.
My soft fingers are ten small twigs, moist with dew from the hard rain drops.
My hard fingernails are tiny pieces of bark that extend the twigs.
My messy mind holds wonder, excitement, and energy that is as unorganized as the leaves that fall from trees.
I live in a huge bookshelf and read to my hearts content.

Chapter 1
Today is a good day
Vanessa got out of her bed. She checked her phone. “ Yep, 5:00 in the morning,” she said taking off her blue silk nightgown and walking into her bathroom. She checked her To-Do List. She turned on some jazz music and got in the shower. It was warm and comforting. She remembered to always get at least 8 hours of sleep. She danced in the shower while she was listening to the jazz music. After that she chose her clothes. She made sure her towel was tight around her body. She chose a fabrical designed long sleeved shirt. Her jean choice were ripped jeans. She put on her contacts and went for her daily jog. After that she came back in and made pancakes for breakfast. “ Now let’s see, I will have two chocolate chip pancakes,” she said flipping them on the pan. She heard footsteps. Victoria Grainer came down with her bunny pajamas. “ Why did you have to make all that noise?” She said to Vanessa angrily. Vanessa took her milk and plate and sat at the table. Victoria and Vanessa may have been sisters, but they were not the same. Vanessa looked at Victoria's smudgy face. She had black around her eyes and red smeared here and there. “ Don't tell me you slept with your makeup again” Vanessa said sighing. Victoria looked in the bathroom mirror. “ Oh great,” She said. She took a tissue and wetted it. She dabbed it at her face only making the makeup smear more. Vanessa sighed. She cut the pancake pieces up and took one bite at a time. “ That's made of trees and paper pulps, the wet tissue wipes can cause acne, zits and wrinkles, also with red eyes and swelling,” Vanessa said taking another bite of her pancake. Victoria stood still as if she was paralyzed. “ But, a cotton pad with makeup remover could remove it,” Vanessa said. Victoria ran upstairs. Vanessa took out her 5,000 Awesome Facts About Everything book and went to page 44( the page she was on). She took out her computer and did some extra math studying. She watched YouTube videos about math and repeated notes in her head 200 times or for 30 minutes and 3.5 seconds if you count the exact seconds. She patted her hair. It smelled like lavender. Vanessa had a type of brain others didn't, she would organize boxes of facts in her brain. So when she needed a fact she would look for it in her brain.
She asked Jimmy next door to wash her car. She payed him $5.30 back. She woke up her parents, gave them a hug and kiss, they gave her her allowance. She got in her Mazda6 and drove to school. For Victoria, she wasn't having a good time. She took the pad and took the makeup off. She didn't like showers. She chose a multicolored dress. She took off her pjs and put on the dress. She forgot to do her homework. Thank god she woke up early. She did her homework and took a bus to school.
At school Vanessa was already for her math test. Victoria ran up to her. “There you are, I looked everywhere,” Victoria said. She sat next to Vanessa who was calculating the time Victoria a got here. “ Thanks Ness, or Nessa, for waking me up early” Veronica said. Vanessa sighed. Ness was also short for Loch Ness, or The Loch Ness Monster who lurked in Ireland. “ No prob,” she said. The bell rang. “ So advisory, advis-is-ory what is up,” Victoria said to her advisory. unfortunately nobody was there. “ I'm early,” she said. The bell must have meant something else.
Vanessa could be 30.6 seconds late if she walked. If she ran she would be 30.6 seconds early. It would take her 10 seconds to find a seat, 10 more seconds to put her stuff down and log into her iPad, and she could just wait. No, wait, 10.6 more seconds to have a silent dance party. So yeah she would be just on time. She ran. Choosing seat, chosen. Stuff down, dance party. But no one came in. Huh, how weird. She must be super early. She heard tinkling of keys. It was her advisor, Mrs.Green. “ Hello Mrs. Green,” Vanessa said. Mrs. Green smiled. “ Hello Ms. Grainer,” she said taking a seat at her desk. If Vanessa did make it on time. Mrs. Green would be 25.7 seconds late. Mrs. Green looked at Vanessa. “ Are we ready, or not,” Mrs. Green said. Vanessa was never ready without her advisees.
During classes Veronica would gaze off. But Vanessa would stay on track.
“Vanessa, when was Shakespeare's bor-”
“ Shakespeare was born on April 23rd, 1554, died on April 23rd, 1616”
Mr. Lever who was the person who asked the question was silent. There were whispers. “ She is so cool”” Awesome”” Mr. Lever must feel burnt right now.” Mr. Lever had always been jealous of Vanessa's smartness. He had actually been suspended for giving Vanessa F’s when she should of got A+’s. After every class Victoria and Vanessa went home. Victoria was not happy but Vanessa was.
Mrs. Grainer had made fried chicken for dinner. “ You know Vanessa, I bet one day you could teach me to be awesome like you,” Victoria said. She punched Vanessa playfully. Vanessa rubbed her arm. “ It's just that you need to study, I'm so smart because I taught myself Victoria, the break comes after the hard work,” Vanessa said as she finished her homework. She handed it to her mother who checked it. Victoria sighed. Tomorrow was another day.

This is a poem based on a book.
So don’t be shy, come take a look.
This is a story about the dark and the light.
This a story as swift as a knight
This is a story as beautiful as the sunset and sunrise as they pass by.
As calm as a butterfly’s cry.
With a spilling of marmalade and a blowing of kisses.
And the flashing of cameras from misters and misses.
A tale of 2 sisters who love each other forever.
The tale of those who love being together.
You may not be the star of the show.
But you are the star of your soul.
A brave woman named Jessica is as kind as love.
As pretty as a peacock, and as warm as a glove
Her sister Eva is as famous as hollywood.
Loves acting and would be a star if she could.
But it’s not the star you are out, it’s the star you are within.
Only a person filled with kindness and love can win.
The End :)

Cooper has a trail of breathing walnuts.
It is shocking.
But snakes choke Elijah’s adventure.
The evening is ruined.
But Elijah’s sweater sounds chirpity.
So Elijah still has an adventure with Flapjack.
The Preacher has sugar cookies.
Elijah is whittling with Flapjack .
Flapjack was breath-taking because he had sugar cookies in the evening.
Cooper is with Elijah in the evening because he had cookies.
This might be a weird poem, it is because I took words from a book and made them into this poem

The mother bird has loved her babies ever since she laid their eggs. When she sat on them she was afraid she would let them down, for she was their protector, their jade dragon.
The first one to hatch was The Strongest. It was very picky. It didn't like crickets, it would refuse such jumpy insects. It did love fruit seeds, but fruit seeds were the rarest food. The second one that hatched was The Weakest. It could barely open its mouth.
First, the mother bird would find two worms to feed The Weakest and then find a bunch of fruit seeds to feed The Strongest . This would tire the mother bird. She would rest upon a tree branch in the middle of her journey. She would avoid the clumsy giants who would chase her and try to touch her.
Finally the third one hatched. This one was The Strangest. When it didn't get what it wanted, it would whine so loud the mother bird would have to fly away. The mother bird felt annoyed when it would do that.
When she found a cricket she went to feed it to The Strongest, The Weakest, and The Strangest. The Weakest tried to open its mouth but it it fell and the only thing peeking out of the nest was its beak. It tried to tweet as loud as it could. The Strongest shook the little hairs on its head and opened its mouth and stretched out its neck. Even though it didn’t like crickets but it was still hungry. The Strangest whined while opening its mouth, it started to flap its wings.
The mother bird turned towards The Strongest. She bent down to feed the cricket to it. The Strangest was mad that it wasn't getting the cricket. It whined so loud that the mother bird dropped the cricket into the nest. The Strangest dove down only to bang its head on the nest. The Weakest looked at the cricket. It tried to get up, but it couldn't. It wanted the cricket. The mother bird wanted to help The Weakest. She bent down to lift it up. After reaching down for the cricket, The Strangest bumped The Weakest out of the nest and onto a branch below. The mother bird was so scared The Weakest might die. She was horrified and felt that she had failed at her most important job of protecting her babies.
How could the mother bird save her little one. If she tried rescuing it, she worried that the poor bird would fall all the way to the ground. Suddenly, a clumsy giant brought this weird two sided thing. It rested the two sided thing against the tree and climbed up to The Weakest.
What was it going to do? Take The Weakest? Break the branch? Shatter the nest? The clumsy giant came up with rubber gloves and carefully lifted The Weakest back into the nest. It took out a worm for The Weakest and dropped it in its mouth. The Weakest chirped with happiness.
The mother bird could not believe it. The clumsy giant had just saved her child. The Mother nuzzled her head against The Weakest. Half of the cricket was already eaten. The Strongest was eating the second half. The birds chirped with happiness that they were all together.
When the night came they all cozied together. The mother bird was happy and felt like the luckiest mother in the world as she cuddled with her three beautiful baby birds.

I live in the shadows of a sleeping giant. We call it the Sleeping Giant Mountain in Belize because when you look at this mountain from a distance it actually looks like a big old giant with a plump belly who fell asleep staring at the clouds. My house is next to the beach, in a town called Hopkins. We lived through five hurricanes but this last hurricane changed everything. Many trees fell in the jungle around the Sleeping Giant and many animals died. One person I loved died too. Her name was Jamila. She was my best friend and she was always there for me, and now she’s gone and it was hard to keep going.
My mom told me that after a tragedy things will eventually get better.
However, I don’t think life is always like that. There are people who have phones, a good school, job, homes, and everyday meals but always want more. There are others who don’t have any of those things but try to remain grateful. I try to be to be one of those grateful people but without Jamila things have been very difficult. I am still very grateful for my family.
My mom is African. Her skin is as dark as hot chocolate. She has lips as red as roses. Her hair is like a piece of the night. She is the African snow white. My dad has bronze skin with combed chocolate hair. He has star striking eyes with copper lips and neat eyebrows. Then there’s me, Caroline. I have lips with a little bit of rose red and copper brown. I have hair that flows in the breeze and that’s in between night black and chocolate brown, with a side of my father’s star striking eyes.
I have a sister named Carmen and an older brother named Daniel who finished college and got a job in America. Now he is an architect. My dad works at Almond Beach Resort and Spa. My mother works in a clothing shop. It is about as big as two bedrooms. I am a sophomore at very small school. But I love Hopkins. My mom and dad were able to put their money together to buy me a phone when I was 10. Carmen goes to a preschool.
On my first day back to school after losing Jamila, my dad was trying to fix the house. It was all wrecked because of the fallen trees. “ Where’s Mom?” I asked him. He was fixing our wiggly table that was crushed by a big coconut tree. He came from under the table looking tired and weak after staying up all night. “ She went to work early,” he said. “ So Mommy isn’t coming to take me to school today,” Carmen said sadly. Dad sighed softly. “ I am taking you to school, I got a week off from work,” he said groggily. “ You should go sleepy instead daddy,” Carmen said. We packed our bags and Dad drove us to school in his Chevy Malibu.
When I got to school my other two best friends, Carla and Issa, were waiting there for me. “How are ya doing?” Carla said cheerfully. “Fine” I said softly. “ Wait a second,” Carla said suspiciously, “ I know that voice, what happened.” I gave out a sad, long, sigh. “ Jamila died” I said with a sob. Carla gave me a sad look. “Honey, I am so sorry,” she said, and gave me a warm hug. Issa joined in. “I am so sorry “ she said.
When I came back from school I could hear people talking. I peeked from the kitchen. Mom and dad were in an argument. Mom looked angry and mad. Dad looked the same and had tear lines on his cheeks. “Don’t you understand, our lives have changed, and you’re doing nothing to help,” Mom said with red cheeks. “ Well I am staying to fix this wrecked house and taking care of the kids while you get to relax at work,” Dad said with heaviness in his throat. I couldn’t take this anymore. I pretended to walk into the house. “Hello Mom,” I said in my happiest voice. Mom’s frown turned into a kind smile. “Hello sweetie,” she said softly. Dad had a cup of coffee in his hand. “Are you alright, Dad?” I asked him sweetly. “Yes” Dad said “Your father just needs a rest, I’ll get Carmen from upstairs.”
I waited in my room for Mom to come up and tuck me in. Instead, she came up with an old, rusty, shoebox. “ Jamila’s mom told me to give this to you, She put it in this shoe box to keep it safe, it’s a letter that I think you’ll like,” Mom said.
Dear Caroline,
I know that after the hurricane hit everything might have changed for you. That is all right, because life is always going to change. Life is going to loop and twist and start and end. You are going to have to learn how to deal with that. Life is not only a right but it is a privilege. I love and respect you because you always took life well and I want you to know that I will always be there for you. I gave this letter to my mom to give to you.
Tomorrow, they said they will need to operate.
Please don’t be afraid.
Love Jamila,
I filled up with tears and gave my mom a hug.
The next day at school, I told Carla and Issa about the letter. “ Just for you?” Issa asked surprised. “ She probably didn’t have time to write you a letter,” I said matter-of-factly. “ I am fine with it being just for you, Caroline,” Carla said giving Issa a hard stare . I had learned my lesson. When life changes, try to look on the bright side even if something horrific happened, and never give up. Life is a privilege and you need to make the most of everyday.

When you look at me you might see my hair
as brown as a tree trunk,
or my wide eyes like an owl’s eyes.
You might see my skin like light honey,
or my curls like the ocean waves.
But you might not see I’m shy-hearted
and always like to be at the back of the line,
and that I love animals so much
that when I see them on the streets
I walk over to pet them.
So when you pass me in the park
know that underneath
I am a person who is reserved with others
and compassionate to animals.
I am a dreamer
because I am curious and absorbed into thoughts,
and I need you to understand and be calm with me.

Ode on a Grecian Amphora
Calm the people down with thy soothing sound,
Let them feel relaxed as the quiet, star filled sky.
Show thy talent until it reaches those stars.
Dont be shy, Maiden, be proud.
Thy dress is flowing with beauty and brightness.
They cheer while you show your talent.
What a twinkling sight.
Look! Isn’t it a gorgeous sight!
Be proud of thyself, let your thoughts wonder.
You made this day, be pleased with it.

The Daisy
King Jason was a wise king and loved his garden. He would always lean back in his royal chair. Sipping from his goblet, he looked at his garden. His wife Daisy said,
“Thank the gods Jason , thank the gods”. And he did.He remembered to thank all the gods…. except one; Roseilisa.
Roseilisa got mad, “ I give him a beautiful garden and this is how he repays me!” she said. So she let the garden die. Princess Marina came running up to him.
“ Father, everything is ruined please do something!.” So King Jason called for new seeds. A lovely lady came in with a fluffy red dress, holding 10 sunflower seeds. “Here they are my lord, for you,” she said. King Jason leaning back in his throne said, “ Plant them then, Gardener.” Rushing toward the throne room was the royal Gardener.
“ Yes my lord, the seeds I’m guessing?” The lady handed the Gardener the seeds. Outside Princess Marina was waiting with her friend Atlanta. Once the seeds were planted, the flowers were alive
“ Yea ! Noo!” the flowers quickly wilted and the petals fell off.
“ Bummer!” Atlanta said. Finally King Jason begged and begged Roseilisa to make his garden beautiful again. Roseilisa disguised as a lady said ,” Fine, but you must bring me the most precious thing in your life”. King Jason thought this bet was horrible, but he decided to do it anyways. Outside Queen Daisy was trying to calm down Marina and Atlanta.
“What's taking so long its been hours!” said Marina stomping her foot.
“A lady is patient” said Daisy. King Jason came out back to Roseilisa, “So do you have it?” But King Jason went away because he didn't want to give away his daughter.
Queen Daisy had heard about the deal and said, “Oh goddess, please take me, for I am his prize.”
The goddess turned into her actual form. Light showed upon Daisy and she was gone. The garden was alive again.
King Jason muttered, “But… who did…” He then saw Daisy’s crown.
Back in the castle, Princess Marina gave Jason twelve seeds.
“I found them in the garden,” she said, sadly.
Everybody came to see the seeds. When the gardener planted the seeds, Marina said, “Let’s name them Daisy, in honor of my mother.”
So, they named the seeds and flowers Daisy. You can still see daisies blooming today.

The dragon is bigger than the castle. His tail is red, the color of jealousy, and his body is brown ,the color of separation. He does not breathe fire, poison, or shoot spikes from his tail. When he breathes, the air that comes out is visible black, showing the black spots that were in his heart. His weapons are his words. When he speaks, he makes you remember a time when you were jealous or separated from a friend or two. That bad memory that you breathe in becomes a dark spot in your heart. That black spot will make your heart heavy and angry. But that’s not all, soon he will tell more bad memories that will turn into more black spots in your heart. Soon your heart is filled up with so many black spots that those spots will be permanent. When your heart grows heavy it means more separation and jealousy is coming your way. The only way to get past the dragon is to fight past the bad memories and remember the good ones.

Dear one, come close
I have two paths, one I have chose
After the explosion, I was hit with rubble
Nothing to eat but dust and rubber
You saved me
I love you
You are true
Filled with blood, is my brain
Now here comes the bloody pain
Like a prey, I have died
My life and death at my eyes
Remember me, for in heaven I shall lay
You won't come till your dying days
I love you, I do
More than truth
Please, keep yourself safe,
For I am dying and going to a happy place
I love you
I--I--Love you

My mother loved pink. It was everywhere. I can't believe I'm packing it up. Dad patted me on the back. " Don't worry, this new house is amazing," He said. Not as amazing as Moms pancakes. Not as amazing as Mom. But she's somewhere else now. Dad'll understand. I pack Moms favorite toy, Neanie, he's a stuffed bean toy that says " Lets go green." I laugh, and cry, and yell. I do everything at once.
We get in the moving truck. Dad gets Lily. I stay in the truck. I take one last photo of the house. I post it on Instigram and comment "Last stay at my house." Dad calls to me. I help him pack. Just run Bella, run. I realize I got 20 more minutes till the move. I can run. I will, I will. Lily hugs me. " Please tell me she's not dead," Lily says crying. Run, Bella run. And before I know it I'm moving my feet. I'm walking, now I'm running. Run, run. I take my backpack and run off. I start to cry aas I run.
My tears fall behind me. I'm a girl who can't speak, a girl who everyone treats like crap. I want to speak. I get a text message from Dad. " I love you guys," it says. I runoff. I see the next bus stop. That's where I will wait. I see Lily looking for me.
I love Lily. I can't say it, but I can show her I love her. The bus is here, I gotta move. " Coming on," The bus driver says. I walk in. " Your welcome," She says. ' Thank you' I think ' I know you're being rude because I didn't say anything, I know your kind.' I pay the woman a fifth of my allowance. The bus takes off. My phone beeps and beeps and beeps. Don't look, don't look. My hands reach for the phone like they have a mind of their own.
Lily sent me so many text messages.
" Where are you"
" Please return"

There are friends
Friends that ditch you
Friends that hate you
Friends that make you cry
Friends who won't stick up for you
Stupid friends
Mean friends
Sassy friends
Friends that think they are better than others
I have a friend that is all of that
But I have other friends that are better
True friends
Friends that stick up for you
Friends that love you
Friends that are on your side
Friends who love the way you are
A friend can make a difference
Be that difference

* My week so far in a paragraph*
Swirls, masses of chaos, sometimes I wonder why the world is this way. Friends who tease you( I won't call out names) and make it seem like nothing ever happened, that type of friend who doesn't love the way you are.

Chocolate fountains, strawberries, marsh Delois, and free soda. Before the news channel could even start the guest star, Bella, was imagining she was in it right now. " That's why when we talk about that protein is good for you , imagining drinking your protein waste," She said. She had discored how to make urine drinkable.
Now so many news channels wanted her, but she loved CNN, so that was the first show she would be on. She took a strawberry and dipped it in the chocolate fountain, she took a nibble. " YUM," she said. Imagine when the people saw a Syrian immigrant who could make urine drinkable. She curled her dark brown hair and made it into a high bun. She placed some makeup on, put the lipstick on twice, and put some deodorant in her armpits.
She was so excited. She could be rich, or was she already? She took a sprite and open d it. She never drank soda before. The sprite was shocking and wowing in her mouth, she gargled ( it made her nose tickle) then swallowed. She took a look at her notes. As a doctor, she had to check people's urine all the time. She was up in five minutes.
Finally the show began. She saw he reserved seat. " We are on in five, four, three, two, ONE."
" Hello, You're watching CNN live, I'm Anne Maray and this is Layla Abdullah, a special guest star, hello Layla"
" Hello Anne, it's nice to be here"
" So, you can think of urine as protein waste, but nobody would want to drink it"
" Well urine is drinkible, but dirty, it takes in bacteria when it sits, nobody would want to drink protein waste plus bacteria"
" You figured out how to make urine drinkable, now how is that"
" You are able to take out the bacteria and urea, and with a specific type of tube, you can keep out the bacteria, with this it is 95% water, which makes it drinkable"
" But then you would just be drinking water, did you add anything"
" I am, but I don't know what"
" But urine is already drinkable, what makes you want to make it even more drinkable"
" So that water can be more producible"
" Well thats it for CNN, today, thank you Layla"
" And thank you Anne"
Layla left bouncing with happiness, she can't believe that happened.

Chapter 1
I never liked moving. And I never liked the suburbs, nor did I like quit. But not everything goes right. Baba( My father) always wanted to live in the suburbs, and we're leaving a week after his memorial. I packed my hijabies( headscarfs for muslims) I remembered to stack the colors in the order of the rainbow, my hijab I ordered from hijabifits was supposed to be here yesterday but it's coming next week because that's when it will arrive at our new house.
" Don't be sad," Umi( my mother) said " Think of it as a fresh start, over again." We packed our things. I got to bring three suitcases with me if my stuff. I packed my most valuable things first, then my clothes, then my toys and books. I was excited to live with Jidda and Jidd. But something was missing. Umi looked in the rear mirror. She could see that I was sad.
She smiled happily like Baba never died. Well, he did, she might not care but I do. " Come on Jamila, it's a brand new day, we're finally here," she said. My younger sister Aya was playing on her kids tablet, which was broken. She couldn't p,at it without crying because it reminded her of Baba. It reminded me of Baba too. I brought a box that said " BABAS STUFF" on it. It had all of his things, if I had not bring it with me, the workers would have thrown it away. New school, new life, new house, new everything. At least I have old memorials, at least I can still text old friends.
When we finally reached the house the car skidded to a stop like a skier stopping at the end of the hill. Umi got out and looked at Jidda and Jidds house. She sighed and out her hand on her hip like those bad girls in the gánster movies, not like Baba would let me watch those. Tears start to roll down my eyes. I miss Baba, I really do. "Yay, we are here, okay, I'll call them," Umi said. These weren't Umi's parents, these were Babas parents.
Jidd and Jidda came out. " Habibtis, hello," Jidd said. He hugged me so tight. His house was big, and the place was quiet, not one sound, except for the chirping and croaking of crickets and frogs. We started to take our bags to the house. I had another younger sister, a newborn, named Amina. We had to take her crib all the way upstairs, it was tiring.
I brought my bags inside. " You wanna see the pool," Jidda said. Of course, it gonna take my mind off Baba. We went to the back by their small playground in their backyard. Jidda opened a glass French door to a pool room. It had a small slide that was completely white. It's like a small slide with water pouring out of it. Like going down a waterfall. There was also a small white diving board.
My sister looked at the bright sun rays shining on the pool reflecting off of it like floating crystals in the clouds. " So, munchkin, are you excited about the new school, new friends," Jidd said. I wish he hadn't meantioned that, I really wish he hadn't. " Well it seems scary, but I am going to enjoy the new place here," I said. Aya jumped on my back, I could hear a crack. " Duh, I love this place," she said jumping happily up and down.
" You're going to enjoy this even more," Jidda said. I heard a scurrying and scratching of feet. A beautiful black and white cat came running towards me. He was so furry and he wasn't fat or skinny. " Meet Cookie, your new companion," Jidd said. Cookie ran into my arms like I was his mother. I lifted him up then put him down again. I petted his soft warm fur, it made me feel good.
Jidd showed us our rooms. It was big, he had split it into three parts. And each part had its own bathroom. One part was for me, one for Aya, and one for Amina.
I put my three bags and Babas stuff on my bed. It had a cover over it like an umbrella. I unpacked all my things. Let me hope this goes out well.

The pipes in our house were frozen. We had to stay at our grandmothers in the suburbs. In midnight my mother woke me up.
" Jenah come down, Sammy's here," she said softly not to wake my sister. Sammy, my grandmothers cat, is awfully afraid of children and will not come out of his hiding spot if children are in the house. I quietly walked down the stairs. There stood Sammy, he had black and white fur that needed to be brushed and trimmed.
My mother put her finger to her lips. " Shhh." I nodded. Sammy meowed. That cute little thing was going to make me go wild. He took 2 steps towards me, then 5, then 6. " Let him show you when he wants to be pet," my mom said. Sammy walked towards me. I held back my urge to cuddle him. He laid down on his back. My mom pointed towards his stomach. I pet it, it was smooth and rubbish.
Sammy meowed again. Oh my gosh, he's going to make me go marbles if he does another act of cuteness. I will always remember my midnight with Sammy.

Sun is setting
Beautiful cotton candy pink
With a shiny color of midnight purple
And star blue
The sun takes its break for the day
We get in our Mercedes car and drive off through the rolling hills
The mother bird cozier with her babies
The shop owner locks his shop door and leaves the block
The little kids who are doing a bike race are about to cross the finish line when their parents call them in
Apartment lights shut off one by one
The only sounds are crickets and frogs
You and I know that tomorrow will be great
For today was good
