a lot of ya forget about the parents, so the few that actually have parents in the plot should be celebrated.

my list
- Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead her mom is important in the first few books her dad in the latter
- Geek Girl (Geek Girl, #1) by Holly Smale all the books have a lot of the parents
- Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins ditto
- Ink Is Thicker Than Water by Amy Spalding
- Mates, Dates, and Inflatable Bras (Mates, Dates, #1) by Cathy Hopkins

Oooh good choices you guys! I would also add Sally Jackson from the PJO series, she's awesome. I also remember loving the mom in Unearthly. Oooh and Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird! (I guess that's not really YA, but still.)
