I'm starting up this new project called The Discourse and one of the things we are doing is a digital zine made by an intended for people of all types all around the world, the intention is to make a mix of traditional fandom zines and civil rights zines so I'm looking for a diverse group of writers and artists that can give their perspective on something they are a fan of (like books)
Most of us working on it aren't straight but we definitely aren't diverse enough to cover the whole queer community.
I thought this would be the best place to reach out to real people that aren't just looking to get published just to be publish.
If you'd like to participate we are looking for anything as long as it represents your personal perspective (and we are not getting one of everyone to represent each marginalized group, that's gross, you don't have to say in your piece who you are and it can be anonymous) so we'd love people to write about personal stories whether asked about pop culture not, thoughts on media representation, any original art that can be anything as long as you feel it represents how you feel, literally everything.
One of the things I'm doing is writing about WWE and how some of the people who created it were openly gay male wrestlers and how it relates to today where all the characters are straight now even though a lot more wrestlers are coming out.
Anyway, if you're interested or know someone who might be (we are also looking for POC and/or disabled people) you can hit me up here for questions or email me personally christyleighstewart@gmail.com
Or you can email the chief editor who I'll end up sending you to eventually meganhansen85@gmail.com
