The Fault in Our Stars was just released as a movie! I was planning on seeing the midnight premiere this morning with a few friends, but my mom scheduled my wisdom teeth extraction for today and didn't want me staying out that late. Hrm...I think I got the short end of the stick here. A swollen mouth and impatience to see the movie. Luckily, Kathy and I are going to see it next week together :) Then again, I am the most impatient person you will ever meet, so that wait will be a tremendous struggle.

Anyway, for those of you who have seen it, how was it? Did it live up to your expectations? How did it compare to the book?

I also thought I would share with everyone that the Fault in Our Stars audiobook is currently on Youtube for free (click the link below). You can download it to iTunes and place it on your iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc. I don't have any experience with Androids, but you could probably do something similar. Here's the link:

I saw the movie on the weekend it released and thought that it was very faithful to John Green's original novel. Honestly, it's one of my favorite movies I've seen in 2014 so far. You could tell that the creators and actors really cared about how the book translated to film. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you do so. It will make you laugh and cry.

message 3: by Riya (new)

Riya I saw it (although I haven't yet read the book). I ended up going with a friend who had read it and really wanted to see it, and she said she actually preferred it to the book (which she didn't like very much). I also enjoyed it, although I don't think it was amazing or anything. It was done quite well and I didn't cry or anything (my friend did), but it was definitely sad. I think it's worth watching, and I'll definitely read the book- but I'm not completely in love or anything.
