message 2: by John (new) - added it

John Fennell (lafsword) Bought this on Kindle yesterday and am looking forward to reading it.

Lorraine | 152 comments I should be getting it from the library this week so hopefully I will read it soon.

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments I like the blurb for this one. You can't even trust the dead seemingly.

Colleen | 1205 comments I went and bought a copy at Barnes & Noble they had only one copy left ... I hope that's a good sign:) I was looking for an excuse to push this up and now I have it

Hopefully it's an enjoyable read then!

message 7: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Walsh | 3 comments Went to the library this morning. They are ordering it for me. Excited to start "Himself" I just finished "Paddy's Lament".

Donna McCaul Thibodeau (celtic_donna) | 1150 comments Finished this one earlier today. I thoroughly enjoyed it once I got used to how short some of the chapters were. The characters were well fleshed out and I enjoyed as well the supernatural aspect. Highly recommended.

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments Thought I might post my updates on the book as I read here - as I nominated it. Be warned I am reading this very slowly.

Besides Donna has anyone else finished it yet? I can see Amalia has started from her feed :)

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments Maria ní Chnoic is on page 108 of 368 of Himself:

"Mrs Cauley grits her remaining teeth. ' Logical thought, the process of elimination. Even Marple would be at a loss in this town. Jesus, they couldn't tell the thing straight if their lives hung on it"

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments He is one gorgeous and quick witted bloke alright:)

Colleen | 1205 comments I haven't started yet but I will toward the end of the month

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments There's lots of time, it being a quarterly read.

message 15: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Walsh | 3 comments In NY. Ordered it from my library. This book is high in demand and I'm on the waiting list.

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments It seems popular alright. That's why it's a quarterly read. It give's people extra time to get their hands on a copy.

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments I really enjoyed this! It's a dark comedic Agatha Christie with a supernatural twist.

Looking forward to the spoiler thread being open.

message 18: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Walsh | 3 comments Book arrived last night. Starting it now

Sharon Ann reads 📘📚📗♥️ (waterford) | 1 comments Just as soon as I finish "The House Without Windows" by Nadia Hashimi, I plan to begin "Himself" I purchased it on amazon.com.

message 20: by Andy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Andy (_btp) | 311 comments probably finish this evening
Will save comments for the spoiler thread, but,
Jaysus...

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments That's great Andy. Love the Jaysus. Emma as its the middle of the month so it would be great to have the spoiler thread open now.

Also folks, I have been in contact with Jess Kidd (the author) and she says she would love to answer some of our questions in early June. So let's have a think about them on the spoiler thread. Emma has suggested we might want to open up a separate thread for questions later on.

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments Thanks Emma - hope you are having a good 🐣

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments I so love Mrs Cauley too but I thought all of the Charectors are larger than life and far more colourful.

Karen Ireland (book-vixen) I am enjoying the story and like Maria I love Mrs. Cauley, she is a very colourful lady looking forward to see what happend to them all

Maria Hill AKA MH Books (mariahilldublin) | 601 comments This is now available in Mass Paperback if anyone still wants to read it and price/availability was an issue.

Also don't forget to post any questions you have for Jess Kidd - I will double check she is still happy to answer questions but she did say she loved em and I said we would try for early June.

Jackie | 19 comments Thanks Goodreads Ireland for another brilliant book - great characters and wonderfully witty, some great one liners. The ghost element might put some off thinking its horror! don't be put off, it's a great story, the ghosts just blend into a believable detective/thriller novel.
