So many people were aware of Wilson Beckett's basement of horrors...Daphne, Hal, Mitch, Mark Hurley the gas man...why do you think it was easier to not do anything? Did you understand each of their points of view about their decisions?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments Mark, the gas guy is the worst. He had nothing to lose turning Beckett in, yet he didn't.

CD {Boulder Blvd} (boulderblvd) | 39 comments I was amazed that people knew and did nothing. I'm not sure I bought into each of their perspectives.

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) Hal and Mitch were really bad guys and so they were able to justify their behavior. Daphne was so terrorized that made sense as well. The gas guy at least went back and looked around the house and property and when he saw Daphne on the news with the uncle I can kind of see how he didn't get involved. (NOT that it's an excuse and the decision I would make but it does make it more realistic). You hear about things like people not getting involved when someone is getting hurt in the world all the time and although I find it horrific and tragic it is believable although not understandable.

I think they all found excuses to justify doing nothing. It's unfortunately mirroring real life.
