Chapter 1 was too short to really get a good first impression I think. (Of course I haven't started reading it yet, so I could be wrong.) SO I'm including the first 2 chapters for our first impressions comments. What do you think so far? Did you have expectations going into this book? Do you think you're going to enjoy it??

Wendy (wmaresca) O.K. so I started it this afternoon. Not sure what I think. Is definitely not the type of book I usually read. The first two chapters to me don't really give me much insight. She seems a sprite lady for as old as she is. To be living alone at her age in NY I can say impressive.

Wendy (wmaresca) I went back and reread Chapter 2 and it seems Lillian is jealous of her sons relationship with his stepmother. Which makes me wonder did her job take her away from her family a lot and what will we learn about that in the coming chapters.

randomreader (goodreadscomrandomreader) | 43 comments I'm not sure if I'm 100% into it yet, but Lillian is a firecracker! I'm loving her tone of voice, and her phrases. :)

I finally got started tonight. Sorry for being so late! I am not connecting with the writing style yet. Hoping it gets better as we go along. I have a feeling it is going to be very character driving - and mainly about Lillian, obviously. I am not convinced I'm going to really enjoy this book. Hopefully it surprises me. We shall see.

Debbi Faust I haven't even started the book yet. This has been such busy month. I have two books to finish before I get to Lillian. I am sorry you are thinking you might not like it. I was one of the people who thought it might be a good read. Elisa at "Paperbits" really liked it. Oh well, we win some and we lose some.
