This is for moderators to have a schedule to refer to for when they are responsible for coordinating the group reads.

Please list a month that you want to be assigned for coordinating group reads. And I will add you to the list.

If it turns out you cannot do your assigned month, post here so we can reassign it.

Danielle is supposed to do September. Is there a volunteer for October? This would be for someone who is available in mid August. I am not. Are there any other moderators other than Joseph, Danielle and me?

Do I create the selection thread in the Tri-Monthly group read folder or the upcoming reads folder?

I have checked to see how Nicolle did it and I can't find it anywhere. I, personally, would put it in the upcoming reads folder, but I don't think it really matters as long as the members can find it.

What are the odd that the Classics for Beginners forum becomes so popular that Rolling Stone Magazine does a feature article and the moderators become famous and get invited to red carpet celebrity events with the most hottest star and get offers for advertising contracts with Amazon and Barnes and Noble and are invited to talk shows with popular authors...?

That would be too much exposure for me. If it happens, I will be a shadow mod. :)

This might be a good time to start setting up a schedule for the next six months.

Thanks, Danielle. Do we have any other active moderators other than Joseph, Danielle and Emily? There are several others listed, but I don't see much activity. It would be nice to have more people involved.

We need to have a volunteer for the Jan. 2015 nominations which is coming up in a few weeks.

I haven't seen any of the other moderators posting. You could send them a PM about it.

That would be great. We post the January nominations around the 15th of the month (November) and take nominations for about 9-10 days. Voting would be the last week of the month.

Okay I will put you down for January, Louise and Joseph you down for April.

There was a tie in the January voting. It has been suggested that we do one book in January and the other in February. Does that meet everyone's approval? That way we won't need Danielle to do the February nominations. Danielle, can you do March or the next Tri-monthly read? If so, decide which one you want and then you can put me down for the other one.

Then I guess I will do the next Tri-monthly.

We have time for someone else to volunteer. We don't have to do it until January. You don't have to commit to it just yet, Emily.

I'm happy to keep helping. Instead of you having to do every month like before, why don't you just sign up for specific months (and other mods as well), so it's not too much work for one person, Nicolle.

Louise didn't start the nominations so I thought I would. Remember guys we need to give the group a whole month to get hold of a group read. I.e June read book is chosen by
1st may.

My bad, was going to post the nomination thread yesterday, got my dates a little confused (I mod somewhere else where nominations are always last week of the month).

If I could take one of the other months instead?

I signed you up for July and October, Nicolle. I'll take August.

Just put up the July nomination thread. Me and Nicolle swapped our shifts around. Shall have poll up 23rd of May and book chosen by 1st June.

And added a post to the list of previous group reads, putting them in 'author surname' order. Just as an additional option for people to check out since there was some talk recently about various ways the list could be made more accessible to more people (atm it's great for finding if the specific book you want to nominate has been read before, but not so good on whether the author has been read recently). Am also working on another listing by date read.

Well I figured I needed to make up for getting my dates so confused last month!
List by date read has now been added so that should (should) be most of our bases covered for ease of people finding the information they need from it now.

Added the changes in schedule.

Saw nominations for September weren't up yet and, upon checking timetable here it didn't look like we'd allocated a mod for it, so have now started the thread with the note that it's a week late and winner won't be chosen until 6th instead of the 1st as a result.

It seemed easier to get the nomination thread up first rather than hold things up further by asking if anyone else wanted to do it. But if any other mod does want to take over September noms, do feel free to! And sorry if I trod on anyone else's feet by posting it.

This would be a good time to get volunteers for November and December. I'll continue to do the tri-monthly reads.
