Rose walked in, disappointed that on her way to the classroom she hadn't bumped into anything that could be her distraction from homework. Her hair was swept to one side, small brown curls, and she was in leggings and a tight black singlet. Her only colour was the aqua blue necklace around her neck. She sat down on the chair, and sort of stared at her book trying to will herself to open it.
Christian was walking by the hallways, and came across a classroom, with an amusing picture of Rose staring at her book. He crept up behind her, and leant up to her ear. "As beautiful as you may be, Rose dear, I don't think mind compulsion exactly works to open a book," he said, a teasing smile on his lips.
When Rose, rarely startled by anything heard Christian behind her, her grin could not be contained. Her distraction had finally arrived. "You reckon that beautiful mind compulsion will work to get me to open a book." She grinned, turning around gracefully to see him. "You reckon next time I see a demon they'll give me a test and say here fill this in and you'll kill me." She hated doing class work, she could not see the point.
"Rose, Rose, Rose," Christian chuckled, "haven't you learnt already? Next time you see a demon, I'll be there playing the piano." He said, grinning back at her. He sat on a table in front of her, running a hand through his hair that was wet from a shower.
"Christian, that's going to take stalking to a whole new level." She smirked. "Are you going to follow me around carrying a piano so you can be there when a demon strikes. How very night in shining armour." Rose grinned. "Last time I checked it wasn't raining outside." She said pointing to his hair.
Christian shook out his hair, drops of water showering around him. "Last time I checked some people do have a shower after swimming," he smirked, crossing his arms. He pointed to her book. "You know, I can help you if you like, seeing you're having trouble trying to open the book," he teased.
"You guys should really invest in a hair dryer." She said crossing her arms across her chest as well. "Your stepping onto dangerous grounds there" She grinned. "Helping me with my study could end up worse than battling a greater demon. Like you said. I'm a feisty child." She teased. "But I'm not denying the chance for you to try."
"Hair dryer, schmare dryer. Why buy one when I can borrow yours, Rose dear? Or even better, get you to dry it for me?" Christian chuckled. "Right then. What are you studying?" He asked, pulling a chair out and sitting on that rather than the table.
"Nah, your hair looks hot wet. It's more badass, looks like you've actually been doing something." She teased. She pushed the book over to him. "History" she said. "The study of things I don't care about."
"In that case, I'd love to see your hair wet, Rose dear. Who knows, the world could be blinded by your startling badass-ness," Christian said, grinning. "In that case, if you really don't care about it, why study it now?" He looked into her eyes, staring momentarily.
"My hair wet, you'd need a blindfold to shield your brilliant eyes from the horrendous fuzziness." Rose joked, brushing her hair over one shoulder. "Because I need to pass school, what would I do if I failed? I'm a shadowhunter, that's what I'm meant to do. That involves passing my academics." She sighed before grinning again.
"Exactly, Shadowhunter, so study then," Christian said, his face set serious suddenly. "What type of history is it? Demon, Mundane, Downworlder, or Shadowhunter?" He asked, the determination set in his voice. He scraped his fringe out if his eyes, it annoyed him.
Rose was almost shocked by the sudden seriousness that Christian portrayed. "Umm... it's mundane history. " she answer, actually surprising herself and opening the book. "Some war they had." She said shrugging. She didn't know the details, it was why she needed to study. Give her a blade any day.
"Mundane wars, hm," Christian thought out loud, "well, I assume you're studying the world wars, so there's either the first, which was global and started in Europe, or there's the second which was also global but involved most of the world's nations," he explained. "Look, I know studying's not your thing, but I promise if you study now we can go and do something fun afterwards," he said, giving her a reassuring smile.
"Second I think." She said, taking the next step and looking at the words in the book. "I've got to write an essay on how it all started. I'm going to take a Guess and say the answers not demons, their own kind are their problems." She shook her head. "Mundanes.". She was suddenly interested in the word fun. She looked up a smirk playing on her lip. "Fun? Sounds good to me."
Christian grinned, but pointed at her book. "Read. Write. Now." He said, chuckling a little. "Fun....later," he said mysteriously, a smirk planted on his lips.
Rose still grinning at Christian got out her pen and paper and started writing about whatever information came up on the war. When Christian said the fun came later she looked up meeting his smirk. "The mystery is killing me." She said not even knowing if the information on her paper flowed coherently.
Christian came and sat next to Rose, reading what she was writing. "That's great," he said, getting up and walking to a shelf. "Here," he said, taking a book and passing it to her, "this is on the Second World War."
"Thanks." She said, glad it was nearly finished. She couldn't wait for the 'fun' whatever that was. She took the book from him, giving him a grateful smile. She finished it off quickly, not really caring what mark she got. If it was a pass she was happy. She grinned up at him when she finished, crossing her arms around her chest like she usually did. "Thanks." She said. "So, fun?"
Christian gave her a smirk. "What's your idea of fun, Rose dear?" He asked, crossing his arms across his chest as well. "And it better not be fighting in the training room," he added.
"Aww, And here I thought you'd be surprising me with a definition of fun." She smirked. "Come on, there's got to be something you can come up with." She said. She quickly packed up her books, her grin not leaving her face.
"To be honest, beautiful, there's nothing more fun than hanging out with you," Christian grinned at her, raking a hand through his hair. "I would invite you to come and swim, but then there's the problem. We don't exactly have a pool. Or lake. Just come to the Greenhouse with me or something, just to hangout." He said, leaning against a wall.
"I'm going to say the same about you." She grinned back at him. "The greenhouse sounds great and Hanging out is just perfect." She stood up holding her books in one arm.
"To the greenhouse it is, then, Rose dear," Christian declared, and gestured to the door. "After you, beautiful," he said, a teasing smile on his lips.
