Jordan likes to claim that he's nocturnal. The medical trainees like to claim that he's an idiot. (Guess which one's right). Considering he sleeps for about two hours (during the middle of the day no less) and makes up the rest with two+ cups of coffee, there's a reason why he's in espionage rather than medical, coding or combat. He'd probably stuff up all of them worse than he's doing with espionage.

He tries to be funny. Whether or not he's ever succeeded is debatable, and his sense of humour is rather skewed, so most things he says are just stupid, rather than funny. Most people think he's too stupid to be upset by that, but he's just gotten really good at burying his emotions. Plus he's always tired, and tiredness = no emotions. Emotions take effort.

being insulted, ridiculed, laughed at? turns out it's not actually that easy to ignore it. and once, it was particularly hard to ignore, and the jerk that couldn't keep his opinion to himself was in hospital with a fractured jaw. jordan punches hard.

Jordan has never been the smart kid, the funny kid, the good-at-anything-at-all kid. From the start to the end of school, he was the class clown, the good-for-nothing moron who failed half his exams. Honestly, it was a miracle he never had to repeat a year. Two years ago, he was bitter, and he got more than ten suspension warnings. One year ago, he put a kid in hospital because he couldn't control his anger. Now he's too tired to think straight, sure, but he's also too tired to lash out, too tired to be hurt. It may not be the best coping strategy, but he's tried everything else already.

He joined the Steel Heart Project to make a difference — he's not sure what kind of difference, but hopefully a good one. If it turns out that he was wrong about the project, well it's probably too late to leave, but he can cope. He's coped with things he doesn't like for the last twenty years, he can do it for another few.

From the moment she could speak, everyone knew there was something different about Elody. It wasn't so much the content of what she was saying that was so striking--it was the sound of her voice. It captivated all who heard it and commanded their attention. Elody learned to appreciate this power at a very young age and became quite adept at manipulating her parents into giving her anything and everything. Throughout life she was cloaked in a fog of naivety which made her oblivious to most of the darkness in the world around her. No matter the situation, she always finds a silver lining and constantly encourages others to do the same. Although she can come off as prissy and egocentric at times, she has nothing but compassion for everyone she meets. She always makes a habit to build everyone up and encourage them to embrace themselves for who they are--yet she seems to be the one who needs the most love. One moment she is scarfing down pizza with her friends and the next moment she finds herself on all fours, praying to the porcelain gods. It is her worst fear that someone will find out about her secret--that although she preaches for everyone to love themselves for who they are, every day she looks into the mirror and sees nothing but mistakes.

Elody entered the espionage program simply as a way to help the world. Although her cutesy and bright personality suggests her skills would be best suited elsewhere, (perhaps as a kindergarten teacher), she has a particular proclivity for precarious situation.

Elody used to love getting lost in movies and books, always seeking out adventure. She would often drag her friends on impromptu hiking trips or mysterious road trips where she was always vague on the destination. It wasn't until her senior year that she started trying to make something of her life, and that's when she made the decision to apply to Steel Heart. She had the aptitude and the skill set necessary, including fluency in three languages, but the only thing she lacked was conviction. Elody never did anything without a friend close by, and unfortunately none of her friends decided to take the leap with her into her new career. It was only on a whim that she decided to submit her application, and although she is anxious about going in alone, she is ready to start her next adventure.

▬▬▬ / ▬▬▬▬ He will successfully cure the void within him, yet he is beautiful and great because he is vacant. He doesn't have a story, or if nothing else he doesn't have one worth sharing, but he's okay with that since it's nobody else's goddamn business, after all.

▬▬▬ / ▬▬▬▬ He went by so many names, Silas Flynn had become something alien to him. When he was 13 years old runaway orphan he took the identity of a missing boy that never made it home for six years - that lasted for five months before the parents begun to get suspicious and he vanished before the first police siren approached the front door. Then he claimed to be street magician, only to end his show with two-three audiences' missing wallet. Hitchhiked from one state to another pretending to be clumsy teen missing school trip bus at gas station. All the petty crimes he did was never fast enough to caught his never stopping move until he impersonated the son of a wrong man. A 'businessman' specialized on sending con artists to hit a mark, steal their attention, then take all their money. Do as he said, you get 5% of the money and live a life - but looking at the list of their targets, 5% from each was more than enough for one young guy like Silas. His street act transcended into a professional day job - once he was a charming, freshman at prestigious private high school who came all the way from England, tasked to steal the affection of a girl whose father was commercial bank's executive, so charming that the whole family got distracted and agreed when he persuaded them to take a week off to their private overseas villa leaving the house alone for his partners - a guy pretended to be the father's new IT technician and a woman pretended to be low profile housekeeper, to swipe clean all the money. Then he was a 'cool geek'-type transfer student from Boston who befriended with socially awkward son of a scandalous actress from LA, only to blackmail the mother for the sextape she kept at home. Honestly, the identity he created for each assignment - name, birthday, history, personality, everything was all game for him. This was a boy who forgotten what it was like to be Silas Flynn. Whether if he had a color to begin with underneath the pretty lying layers.

▬▬▬ / ▬▬▬▬ One time Silas tasted reality for a little bit was when he pretended to be a college freshman. His job was to seduce one of his 48 years old, happily married professor who allegedly had a thing about having affair with guy half her age - and yes, she was very rich to begin with. However, his eyes were not exactly on the price, but at the part-time barista near that professor's office building. At first it was just casual chat between two guys, then late night hang outs that once ended with them getting very drunk and lip-locked. That one time Silas tasted reality, he often forgot about the target and his attempt to be her new creepily younger lover. Eventually, the target lost interest on Silas and it angered his boss. One of his partner took pity on him - and the guy he fancied because let's face it, the boss would kill them both - they were already dead men walking. He tried to help them escape to another country but the other one on the team, apparently far more scared of the boss rather than having empathy for this young boy who finally, finally, knew what happiness felt like. She told the boss about this escape plan, and within 24 hours, the boss caught the three of them, dragged them to a empty warehouse where Silas was forced to see the guy he liked, and the man who remotely became father figure for him, screamed in agony as they received such slow and painful option to die. All because Silas didn't do his job - hence why they spared him for the last act. His punishment was living the last hours of his life filled with guilt. Somehow, with some miracle - or curse, he escaped. He escaped far enough until he reached Steel Heart's feet and they took him in - Steel Heart smelled like trouble and it seemed like they had secrets about everything, and eyes on everyone - he knew he drill; ask no question. Maybe they knew he was a chameleon, things he did to people and how he tackled the mission; but the fact that his head was hunted and he basically killed two guys all because he had a heart - that was a secret you couldn't afford to know.

( p e r s o n a l i t y ) be sure to watch your back with this one; evie is a born manipulator, knowing exactly how to get what she wants. the worst part - you'll never see what's coming. a smile just might mean she's figured out exactly what your hiding. she is seemingly able to change her face and persona in seconds, making her perfect for the job as a spy. her perception lets her notice even the slightest change in her surroundings, creating perfectly analysed patterns and plans in her mind. taking risks is second nature for her and don't expect her to wait for you to catch up. she won't be nice just to spare your feelings, so keep up - or leave.

but despite her cold -sometimes even aggressive- exterior, when she comes to care for someone, their life become her own. loyal to a fault, even if her own life is at risk, she will step up to protect her loved ones no matter the consequences. she is a natural group leader and will take on any problem in an instance; though this may lead her to miss the bigger picture at times. but when a problem does pop up she will never be stumped for long, coming up with best possible work-around nearly instantaneously. but be careful not to try and fit her in a box; her defiance is a force to be reckoned with and evie is never afraid to stand up for herself.

( h i s t o r y ) evie's childhood had always been full of love. how ironic she ended up being so different from her two fathers. growing up in a quaint little seaside town in scotland, her memories are a dance of golden rays, gleeful laughter and warm embraces. her little life was without a care until one very unfortunate day. one especially warm summer afternoon at the age of merely eight, the family packed up the car for a quick ride down to the beach - a route they'd taken every non-rainy day in summer for the past nine years. it was just another day. one of her fathers was chuckling and rolling his eyes as the other and evie were singing along to her favorite tune on the radio - until they weren't.

young evie woke up alone in a hospital room scared to death. her life changed that day. she never saw her parents again. after two years of living with her grandmother she died as well and evie was stuck in foster care. some days were better than others, some families kinder than most but love was not something she felt again. so she learnt how to fend for herself, relying on others was not an option. independence was necessary, as well as hard work, while deep down she hoped to create a new life for herself one day. she'd always had a knack for languages so she used all of her time not working to learn all she could. accents, foreign tongues, acting and pretending. she may have never joined the theatre club in school but her skills were probably beyond the average level anyway.

at the age of eighteen she was official deemed an adult but she'd never felt more out of place. though she never had many any friends in secondary school seeing everyone leave with at least some sort of plan left her completely hopeless. but by some bizarre circumstance steel heart caught word of her skills and gave her an opportunity she couldn't pass up. it's not like she had anything to loose. during her traineeship she quickly proved herself to be a strong asset to the organisation which ended up landing her the spot as an espionage trainer. although she would never say it aloud, she loves her career and has truly found her place in the world again. after all, secrecy has always been in her nature.
