Emma (M) | 1777 comments I am really looking forward to this challenge, I have so many books I can't wait to read that haven't fit other challenge parameters, it's going to be fabulous to just read what I want and still accumulate points!

But I guess that's why everyone loves TT

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments Time for intros............Drum roll please.......

Welcome welcome one and all to the annual Tower Team Challenge..........this sounds familiar!

Me and my beautiful Co Captain Emma ^^ are happy to meet you all.

Some we already know, some we don't, but we love new friends that we can chat with about books and other interesting fun stuff.

My first ever Tower Team game was a few years ago now, and funny enough I was lucky to be captain then and have the lovely Emma and K Terror on my team, since then we've always seemed to either get on teams together, or sign up together for team challenges.

Alas our other TT teammate is on the Darkside this time, but I'm sure Snowtulip will pop in and say Hi at some point.

Abbie is our fearless leader over at AMMP and Venecia and Tea are also AMMP members as well as sexy snakes *fistbumps*

Tea is also our cool mentor on this challenge

I love LOVE love romance and all things related, the smuttier the better lol, but i also do love a good thriller/horror.
I can't bear much fantasy or non fiction *shudder* although i have read a few.

Let us know your favourite reads and we can all see if we can throw some recommendations around.

Be aware, us girls love to chat, when i say chat i mean CHAT haha, if i'm not mistaken our Jubilent Chickadee thread had about a thousand more posts than all of the other teams lol.

Oh......and we love a gif off with the other teams!!

I've sent friend requests to everyone and if you can post your shelf link then we can get the boring bit out of the way nice and quick and just get down to the good stuff!!

I am in the UK and Emma is in sunny old Oz so one of us will probably be around, but if not then just either throw us a PM and we'll get back to you asap, or someone on the team will be able to help.

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Great intro V!

Hi everyone, I'm Emma and I'll be your co-captain for this challenge
:D

I'm very excited to get to know you all and having a blast along the way. Given past history, we will be a VERY chatty team.

Let the games begin!!..... in like 2 weeks :)

message 18: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments Whoop whoop!!!

That being said it is just about my bedtime here lol, i always end up sleeping while the chat begins and then catch up, reply and look like i'm talking to myself in the mornings lol.

Tori Coulson Hey v nerd. I'm from Durham. it's near Newcastle on rather close to the Scottish border (though locally there's a lot between us and the borders)

I'm so excited for tower teams that I should be working right now but instead I'm dreaming about my reading list and strategy for extra reading time

Ghost in the Stacks Once again I am slow to the party...or was I even invited???Darn, I wasnt invited again.

description

I will say 75% of you already know me, I love, love, love to talk to my self. I always tend to be on when no one else is, or maybe they just dont want to talk to me.
I mostly read Mystery, Thrillers, & Horror. I do in fact love a good Non-Fiction book every once in awhile, so I usually tend to cover those task in challanges.
I work about 20 hours a day,six days a week so I live on Caffeine, Goodreads, and Books (at least that is how it feels anyways).

....Wait a second, did I get put on the European team again?

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Except for me!!! Another US girl here! You forgot to mention vodka fridays?!!

This is my third TT round too and I'm super excited! I would have checked in earlier but RL has been getting in the way of my GR time this week. (Although I've still been getting through with one bud in the ear and listening to a bit of my audios when I can so I'm not gonna complain too much!).

I used to read mostly smut, paranormal and ya but I've really gotten sucked in heavily lately with mysteries/thrillers/PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLERS. So, ya, I seem to be getting more twisted...

message 33: by Emeli (new)

Emeli Webb | 133 comments Hi guys im emeli and i am a catloving half swedish half latina from sweden and this my second tt round. Im a real bookworm and i read mostly mm romance. When im not reading i love to watch anime with my boyfriend.

message 34: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson I wish I new what genre I like. i think I like adventure stuff cos I LOVED treasure island and I love Bill brysons travel books. I like the cosy mysteries and I like a bit of fantasy. i can't read really heavy fantasy though. I'm very dyslexic and fantasy style writing is very 'flowery' and hard to follow

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Hi Team!

In case any of you are interested in the BOM for May and haven't noticed the threads have gone up, the three books are:

The Circle by Dave Eggers The Circle - starting 2nd May
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles A Gentleman in Moscow - starting 12th May
Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor Strange the Dreamer - starting 22nd May

The mods have advised that even though the first book starts two days before the beginning of the challenge, points will still be awarded for discussion and participation, as long as you finish the book after the challenge start date of the 4th.

For any of you that may not have played TT before, the BOM are a chance for the team to make extra points by participating in the BOM discussion. If you are really keen you can earn even more points by volunteering to write discussion questions (DQ) on one of the days (although it is restricted to one person per team for the DQ). Reading and participating in the BOMS is certainly not mandatory, but if there is one you fancy reading, it certainly helps to have those extra points. The link below will take you to the first book's thread, which has an explanation how the BOMS and TT work.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Personally, I'm very happy to see Strange the Dreamer in there as I just bought it the other day.. yay!

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Hello team,

I'm little late I know, but I'm here now and that counts. :)

To start with important stuff - my TT shelf tt-v

Now to introduce myself to those that don't know me.
I'm from Croatia, love reading and don't have favorite book or genre. There are couple of books (and number is getting bigger) I tend to reread, but I'm mostly mood reader. Sadly, for about a year now, real life decided to interfere in my reading time (took some classes, new job, internship going on at the moment,...) so my yearly book number is halved *wipes tears*
As you can see, I'm a mod here but I decided to step back and be regular team member to save some time for reading ☺ (I apologize upfront to Emma and VNerd if I start messing in their 'job'. Feel free to send me back to my place :P)

Karen (karen-ann) | 140 comments Hi All,

Excited about this team challenge. Sorry late introducing myself just back today from a weeks holiday in Croatia.

I live in the south west of England originally from the Channel Islands. Love reading genre depends on my mood.

Karen (karen-ann) | 140 comments Whats everyone reading right now. I'm a third of the way through Goblin by Ever Dundas by Ever Dundas . An unusual but interesting story, set in London during the Blitz and present day telling the story of an abused disturbed child and the elderly woman she is in the present day. A mix of historical fiction/fantasy elements/magical realism

I love seeing what people are reading, but it usually ends up with me adding even more books to my already heaving TBR list. I'm reading The Mountain Story by Lori Lansens The Mountain Story. It's about a young man who has gone up a mountain with a plan to end his life but gets waylaid by three women needing his assistance,. Unfortunately they end up getting lost and having to survive in the wilderness for 5 days and from the blurb it sounds like not all of them return. So far I'm really enjoying it and I'm loving the author's writing.
