Any other topics you'd like to discuss? Your overall opinion of the story?

Angela | 155 comments My favourite book of the series to date. I was gripped throughout the reading and was completed invested in what the outcome would be.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I liked this book less. The writing is still very good but the sheer number of unlikely twists was too much IMO. They took me out of the story.

- 40 something year old man from wealthy family has affair with a high school girl
- law enforcement man with tragic history believes he has some crazy religious calling to be a sin eater
- renowned plastic surgeon "remakes" street girl into the image of his murdered daughter
- longtime Priest falls in love and decides to leave the church

Any one of these would have been fine, even two, but all FOUR happening in the same story stretched the credibility for me too much. It was one or two twists too many and my response ended up being one of "oh, come on!"

Phrynne | 607 comments It was my favourite of the books to date. I am really enjoying the way the main characters are developing and as usual I loved the way the author creates the atmosphere of the place.

I really loved it because all of these issues were connected to the central theme of the story. No one was as they seemed on the surface and the contradictions ended up destroying them. On the surface, these relationships seemed fragmented and Krueger wove them together in interesting ways. I found it fascinating.
