What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The fiction novel was about a guy finding secret messages through an online MMO video game and he ends up in a cult which aims to take over the world (?). All the members are recruited through the AI left behind by the original game creator.

Some guys are recruited for their money, some for their leadership etc.

I had read this book maybe 4-5 years ago.

Is it aimed at adults? Remember the cover? Author female or male?

It was definitely adult.

There was murder (biker decapitated by a wire strung across the road), sex, drugs (crystal meth parties) etc.

This should be Daemon by Daniel Suarez.
I remember the drug parties and the scene with the biker being decapitated by a chain.
The guy finding the messages is one part of the plot, there are other points of view as well.

Yeah, definitely "Daemon" - the decapitation occurs in the first page or so as I recall.
