Catherine I've just finished Paris for one by jo jo moyes. It was alright, I listened to it on audible and hated the narrator. I kept wanting her to speak properly (not that I can say certain words properly).

I'm a big audiobook fan, but some narrators really grind my gears. It's so sad when you are really enjoying a book but the narrator just ruins it. I actually never finished The Green Mile because of the narrator.

Me, too, Catherine. Me too....

On a brighter note: We are at 19 books so far! Can we make it past 20??

Keri Phillips | 164 comments Just finished listening to Furthermore by Taherah Mafi. Definitely a cute middle grade read, but doesn't rate as high as a Riordan or Harry Potter. Middle School girls would really enjoy it.

Tina (simplytina) Death of a NagDeath of a Nag
I finished listening to Death of a nag by M C Beacon. Loved it ! Cosy murder about a Scottish policeman in the rural Highlands told with a Scottish accent. Highly recommend it

Sam I finished reading "The Monk". I've read "The Witch's Daughter", and "Moondial" - this I remember as a TV series in the 1980s, thoroughly enjoyed the book. Just started "The Book Thief", it's interesting so far.

Ive heard very mixed things about that one - worth reading do you think?

message 22: by RedReadingRoom (new)

RedReadingRoom | 138 comments I doubt I'll get any others finished by the end of the month, so heres my round up:
Somme: Into the Breach by Hugh Sebag-Montefiore
Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 & 2 by John Tiffany
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
Thor: God of Thunder, Volume 1: The God Butcher by Jason Aaron
More Than This by Patrick Ness
From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Eldest by Christopher Paolini

What can I say, work stress leaves my brain so fried all I can manage doing is reading - its just a shame my stitching suffers as a result

I really enjoyed it. It was definitely different. It took a while for me to get into it, but I read the last 50% in one sitting because I HAD to find out what was going on.
