Read the first chapter last night. Love it so far. The writing is great and it's sooooo exciting. I have lots of questions that need to be answered, though. I'll continue this evening.

I can't read your spoilers yet, but I totally agree about the sarcasm. I had to laugh out loud several times.

I got so into the book I read the whole thing and thought I will comment along with you as you read it. I will say this, it just got better as it went for me its definitely a 5 star book. I would actually like to read it again as i read it on audio, so its easy to miss bits I kept rewinding when ever I stopped the car.

Audio goes so much faster for me, too. I'm getting a slow start (not for lack of interest and fascination, but unfortunately for lack of time). I don't think I'll find time until Sunday to continue. I hope you'll still discuss with me.

This audio book was narrated By Tim Gerard Reynolds whom I consider one of the better narrators around. There are many great books around but the narrator can make or break an audio book and Tim sounds like he is enjoying the book as much as the reader. I admit I love a good epic fantasy it would have to be my favourite. By the time I got to the end of this book my immediate thought was Michael J. Sullivan is a word magician he has weaved a spell with his words and has me mesmerised with his story. I fell in love with the characters Persephone, the mystic Suri with her wolf Minna and the ever dependable Raithe being my favourites. The twists and turns that I never saw coming just added to the enchantment of the story. (hide spoiler)]

Sorry, Gillian -- totally overbogged by work (I even facilitated workshops on the past two weekends), but I'm happy to say I have a breather coming up so, if you'll be patient I'll discuss this book with you later this week and we can even buddy read the second book together if you like -- if it's a five star book, I'm sure you'll want to. :)

Forgot we had this set! I'm 9 chapters in and absolutely loving this. The chracters are amazing!

Through chapter 14. Very much liking this. The world and characters are great.

I want to know how Arion is going to tie in. I know she's going after Nyphron, now I just need to know what happens when she gets there. (hide spoiler)]

Just read the first three chapters. I still believe this is a very solid start. No time wasted to set things up, they just start happening. (view spoiler)[Raithe is my favorite at this point. I like that he's a good person who came from such a harsh background. Loved the scene with him and Malcolm and the story.

Persephone and Sufi both have potential at this point. And I really like the snippets from The Book of Brin. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished chapter 7. (view spoiler)[I have questions about Malcolm. I find him really entertaining, but I want some answers about his background. Why doesn't he know anything about the other humans?

I like Suri. She's odd, but a lot of fun.

Maps are great! I need to finish. I've been so slow.

Haha I just got through the first chapter. Sort of expected that his dad was going to die but I’m excited to see how this is going to play out

Okay I definitely restarted this book because rereading Chapter 1 wasn't that big of a deal to me. Going to add my comments for this book now!

Chapter 12: (view spoiler)[I just don't understand why no one backs up Persephone.. she was married to the previous ruler for years and now all of a sudden she's lower than dirt to these people? So stupid. I think I know who is behind the murder of her husband.. but I'm not one hundred percent sure yet. (hide spoiler)]
