I am looking to get more reviews for my books. I have reached out to many reviewers on this site as well as other groups I belong to (thank you to everyone who has already reviewed my books!). I looked at a few review groups on Goodreads but many of them seem to have lots of review requests without takers. Does anyone have suggestions on good groups or other ways to get reviews? Thank you!

Go onto one of my books Erica, on Amazon and look up the email address of the reviewers. Look for ones that are not verified- click on the name then see if they list a blog site or email address and write them. That's how I built up my mailing list.

https://www.amazon.com/Captain-No-Bea...

https://www.amazon.com/you-were-lived...

Once you get into Amazon's top reviewer list- look to see what genre they like. If you aren't having any luck- look up similar books to yours and see what names pop up there. We all end up with the same pool of reviewers.
The other think I've done is sent it out to the mommy bloggers- and offer a giveaway. You may get a review from them.

It's exhausting- I spent a solid week at night writing the top one thousand people- one set for my son, the other set for me- They are particular and the kid's book people only want kid's books.

When you email a reviewer on Amazon do you just tell them that you saw their reviewer profile on Amazon and then request a review?

Carrie D. Miller (carriedmiller) | 89 comments Author Marketing Club has a reviewer grabber tool in their premium membership. I've read good things about it but haven't bought into it yet because it's not working at the moment (for the last few weeks, actually)

Yes- Something like- I loved the review you wrote of Captain No Beard and thought you may be interested in my book &&&&&. Blah Blah will be free this weekend on Kindle or whatever. I'd tell a little about the book that you are trying to help kids read or pronounce things- These people like to be helpful if they think the book will service a cause. Try to accumulate the emails on a spreadsheet and then the week you are going to do it- sit and punch them out- Again!! NOT in one email.

Try to do it when you know the book will on a free promotion. DON"T ASK FOR A REVIEW! especially not for in-exchange for a book. That ship has sailed. Don't do a mass email where you include many emails together- They will annihilate you if you share the email address.

Just found this http://bookbloggerlist.com/

It's lists of bloggers- I've used it successfully. Anybody who puts their name in there is looking for product.

C.L. Lynch (cllynchauthor) | 210 comments I did Netgalley through Broad Universe which offers monthly listing, and I did a review alert on Xpresso book tours. Each one netted me 5-10 reviews.

Thanks, CL. Net Galley got my son a diverse group of reviews. We've done a few books on there. We did a review service- Bloggers apply for a free book that will be followed by a few review- they didn't charge for the review though. I can't remember the name- they disappeared when Amazon did the review policy change.

Thanks for this - though sadly a lot of the links seem to lead to dead websites :(

Lori | 7 comments This thread is very helpful as I'm also looking to get more reviews. I will take the advice here, and I also had the idea to start a meetup group in my area for authors. Sending out free copies can get expensive (and I try not to give out my books for free too often via Kindle), so I think it could be fun and helpful to do an in person review meet up. Maybe you want to try this in your area too? Or, if you happen to be near Westchester, NY, join mine! https://www.facebook.com/groups/13794...

message 26: by Marjorie (new)

Marjorie Reynolds (starliteauthor) | 10 comments Sounds like a good idea. I live in the Seattle area so it would have to be a west coast branch. Thanks for the tip.

Found this website yesterday and thought I would share incase anyone else is interested. Submitting your book is free and if it is accepted it is 9.95 a year up to 3 titles or 14.95 unlimited titles (will increase to 19.95/29.95 on June 1). http://readersreviewroom.com/

P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 84 comments Great information. I'm looking for reviews for my new novel. Thank you everyone.

And I forgot to add this list of reviewers.
http://www.bookbloggersaustralia.com.au/
Most are based in Australia so you'll need to think postage or e-book. If I have to post a print book I use the book depository -www.thebookdepository.com -to order my book because with the royalty and no postage it costs less then me having to post from New Zealand to the UK or USA, and adds to my sales numbers!

We seem to have forgotten our own Pay It Forward thread which is hiding somewhere near here! I'll wake it up.

However, I was sent an invitation to join this group

https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

and it has a strong Pay it Forward Ethos. But, like our own dear sleeping thread, it is have a snooze. In short, select a book from those advertised on there (look at the 'more discussions' threads for some ideas or go to the book list), post your review and and then upload your book for someone to pick up and review. Simple. But it needs waking up.

E.M. Swift-Hook | 1 comments If you are willing to review books (non-reciprocally) then this is a very good place:

message 38: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Thanks, E.M. The trouble is, for me, that group is far too organized and I'd never keep up.
