Anshita (_book_freak) | 267 comments The Popsugar Reading Challenge is fun, but we can also do a lot of buddy reads on the side too. We can chat about the prompts, help each finding books, and most importantly move on from the reading slump that we all get stuck with sometimes.
I have read a lot of books with my friends on Goodreads, and the experience has been astonishing, not only was I exposed to new authors and genres of books, I sometimes read 3 to 4 books in a week, all because I could discuss that book from a friend, in a different country experiencing the same emotions I did.
I have had joined several groups to buddy read, but eventually, they all dull down since people lose interest or cannot agree on one book. But this group could be different in that matter since many members are reading same books, due to the prompts.
For that reason, I think we should start a buddy reading thread and as popularly said,
"Friends don't let friends read alone."

Tara Bates | 1008 comments That seems like fun. Would you just post what you're reading and see if anyone else is also reading that?

message 3: by Anshita (new)

Anshita (_book_freak) | 267 comments Yes, we could do that and the more people do that we can find people reading similar books, or at least similar prompts being read.
I am currently reading books for 2 prompts:
1. A book set around a holiday other than Christmas - Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie.
2. A book where the main character is a different ethnicity than you - Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott.

What are the books that you're reading for the challenge, Tara?
