Love this idea! I fully support having open discussions during summer as I see I've been doing not-too-well with reading the books that are actually posted >.<
My usual excuse for putting off one book over another:

There's just so much to read Melissa! I have like 2 arcs I want to squeeze in (preferably before our June books)- and that's before I go to BEA lol. I'm definitely looking forward to Scythe and Our Dark Duet, however, and intend to give them their proper reads.
Also, I LOVE The Road to El Dorado! I used to be able to quote it as well as The Emperor's New Groove.
HE GAVE ME LOADED DICE!
Here's to reading!

So, I'm currently reading The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue and it's living up to the hype so far (which I worried about because it was -everywhere- ). Henry is such a fantastic character and the Grand Tour story is really fun!
I've also started a middle grade by Jason Reynolds called Miles Morales . This is my first Jason Reynolds...and I didn't know it was middle grade...I'm not sure what to think yet. Its only about 250-ish pages, so it should go quick.
These are both Boston Teen Author Fest books, so I'm pretty excited that I only have 5 after these 2 (by September 23rd).
What is everyone else reading this month?

Update: I couldn't get into Miles Morales , but I loved The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue - it's the perfect summer adventure story and it really lived up to the hype for me.
Up next: The Last Magician and Magnus Chase (book1) .

I'm so proud of me this year! I've already read three more books than I did last summer (according to Wandoo).
My favorites so far:
The Witch Boy: This is an ARC I'm really looking forward to getting for my library. It's a beautiful middle grade fantasy with an allegory about acceptance, particularly for the LGBT+ community.
The Hate U Give: I am blown away by this novel on so many levels. Likely the most powerful book I'll read this year.
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue: Monty is a scoundrel with a heart of gold. Well, maybe copper... or a really shiny... rock... He's doing his best, okay?
My least favorites so far:
Vanilla: This ARC is horrifyingly aphobic! I gave it a fair shot despite poor reviews and yet here we are...
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court: It's over. *tears of joy*

Magnus Chase is my official favorite series from Rick Riordan's universe.

I'm so proud of me this yea..."
I LOVE Henry! And that is a really accurate portrayal of him LOL Gentleman's Guide and The Hate U Give are definitely in my top 10 books of 2017!
Magnus Chase was a pretty solid book. I'll get around to the whole series at some point, but the narrator was just ok for me.
Looking for Group sounds like an interesting one!
PS, #PurpleWedding muahaha!
