On the Southern Literary Trail discussion

Recently my wife Martha Jo and I had the opportunity to visit with Diane Barnes and her husband Billy in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. We shared a wonderful dinner on the coast and, of course talked books and "The Trail." Now, if we could just get our spouses who are both voracious readers to join goodreads!

Here's a look at our first face to face meeting. It was a great evening. Oh. And I was reaching for my Mojito, not Diane's knee.

Mike, I'm glad you clarified where your hand was going. I myself was drinking a Margarita. The 4 of us had a lovely fun time, and I'm now a big fan of Martha Jo. She's just what Mike needs to keep him in line, and believe me, she 's up to the job. Did you guys buy any antiques on your way home?

@Diane--We came close to buying an Audubon Carolina Parrots. But the dealer was too proud of her things. But if you get down to Augusta check out The Book Tavern. It's a great shop. Looking forward to our next visit!

It's always a pleasure to meet members of the Trail. My wife Martha Jo has noted there is a special bond that emerges between readers. I definitely agree. We're headed to Key West to celebrate our anniversary later this month. So any trail members along the route message me via goodreads. MJ and I would love to meet y'all.
