If you are willing to place one of your June reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than May 25th .

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by May 31st.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your June book.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 734 comments Ok. I forgot about "Someone Pick It For Me" last time, so I'll be sure to get my list up this time. Someone kick me if it's not posted by the end of the month!

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I’m going to try to join in. Major back surgery in early July so I’m busy getting my life in order, but I have to sit down sometimes, right?

2. Darcie Wilde, A Purely Private Matter
3. Alison Goodman, The Dark Days Pact
4. Sherwood Smith, Fair Winds and Homeward Sail: Sophy Croft's Story
5. Kathleen Flynn, The Jane Austen Project

@ Debbie- Will do! :)

@Abigail- ouch, yeah between PT, heating pads and ice, some reading to take you away from it all would be nice. :)

message 6: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I got through my recovery from hip replacement ten years ago by reading through a stack of Austenesque novels sent to me by a lovely friend. Don’t remember much about them, anesthesia fumes having fogged my brain, but I did find it a delightful diversion! Expect to do the same this time.

message 7: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 911 comments Mod
Ha! Yes, this is true. Anesthesia does that to me, too. Oh well, delightful diversion indeed. :)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments No you are not experiencing deja vu... this is the same list from last month... minus one. This is so much fun. Here is my list.

1) Darcy's Ultimatum: A Pride & Prejudice Variation
2) Progression Vol. 1: A Continuation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
3) Chosen
4) On Oakham Mount: A Pride & Prejudice Variation
5) Memory: Volume 1, Lasting Impressions: A Tale Of Pride And Prejudice
6) Another Darcy: A Collection of Pride and Prejudice Variations
7) Darcy and Elizabeth What If? Collection 1
8) A Fair Prospect: Volume I, II & III
9) Dearest Friends: A Jane Austen Inspired Novel
10) Lottie Pursues Bill

In my TBR pile I have several works that are in a series, a box-set, or a collection. When you choose one from my list, I am obligating myself to read the set. That should clear out the cobwebs. Here is the best part… I am keeping a copy of this list and will continue to submit it, with each new ‘Someone Else Pick It For Me’ month, until I clear out my dusty TBR pile. I am tired of freezing up every time I try to decide where I want to start. Hey, I think this will be fun. It doesn’t matter where we start… in a few months this list… ‘will be back’… sorry, couldn’t help it.

Okay, we'll go with luck and happenstance and see where it gets you. (and now I'm hearing Dirty Harry, 'do you feel lucky, punk?' LOL

message 17: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Ah--one of my favorite movies, Kirk! I remember seeing a double bill once of Dirty Harry and Return of the Dragon and emerging transformed. Who knew how cathartic stylized violence could be? Not this sheltered private-school girl.

Dad, brother, and a bunch of single GI's my mom brought home from the base every holiday meant I saw my fair share of stylized violence. LOL

LOL, actually I shouldn't say every holiday, but some. The ones who really got into TV take over was my dad the coach bringing home his basketball team for some yelling and growling over sports. Yeah, maybe sometime this stuff will show up in a story. :)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments I think that is a scream... no pun intended. What a fun place that must have been.

Coach Bennet working with a college or pro sports team and he with 5 daughters at home. OMG! I'll stop... sorry.

I hadn't done a message for it yet. Sorry about that, Teresa. I was trying to time it so I could mention the May group wrap up, the June Pick it and announce July's read. However, I have been stumped about the July read idea so my message has not gone out yet... I'll get that sorted out so a group message can go out. :)

message 36: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 313 comments No problem Sophia. Thought I'd missed something along the way. I'm kinda choked with books to read at the moment and not enough time. However, I never got around to last months so I'm determined to take part in this one.

The Coming of Age of Elizabeth Bennet

Enjoy!

Kirk (goodreadscomkirkc) | 297 comments Hi Debbie! I'm glad you made the list under the wire as #7 Jane Austen and Mozart(although not a fan of his music) looks very interesting. Lol..TMI warning...although he is only in my upper part of a classical top ten...I think Bach might be a better choice. Happy reading!!!
