I've never liked Galad that much, but his duel to start off this book was pretty awesome. Looks like he's in charge of the Children now?

Bill | 1596 comments At least a small contingent of the Children and looks like he is going off to claim total leadership. I never really liked him either but it will be good if he can bring the Children to Rand. Glad he got a small measure of revenge for Niall too.

Bill | 1596 comments The Taraboners and Domani have sort of joined together to strike back at the Seanchan. Suroth and the other Seanchan seem to be fracturing without immediate authority above them. Looks like this will get worse with the news that the empress and her family have been killed. Did we know Suroth was a darkfriend before?

I don't think we did, but it's been a bit since book 10.

Sumant | 522 comments Galad and Gawyn are my least favourite characters, at least now he is doing something worthwhile.

Suroth now has only Tuon standing in her way to become empress.

The part about aes sedai in tower trying to find dark friends was really boring for me, because I don't seem to remember them at all.

Egwene is captured by tower Aes sedai. But the surprising part is that they're not going to punish her but make her start as accepted. Surprising decision by Elaida.

Bill | 1596 comments Yeah Galad and Gawyn are super weak characters. I ran into a stranger reading a WoT book(forget which) and she told me Gawyn was her favorite character so I'm wondering if he gets extremely more interesting in the last 3 books.

I have a buddy in WoW who named one of his characters after Galad. Then again the guy plays a Paladin, so maybe Galad's Lawful Good persona appeals to him, where I'm a more Chaotic Good kind of person.

Bill | 1596 comments Name makes sense for the role. It is a shame because there is a lot of potential for the characters. Jordan seemed to finally be using Galad as the ideal leader for the children which his character is perfect for. Gawyn seems to have just disappeared after Dumai's wells. I wonder if he just got lost in the ever expanding story. He would of made a good balance to lead the towers troop against Bryne and added an extra layer with him being trained by him.

Look forward to seeing if Sanderson can rejuvenate them.

Well Sanderson definitely does more with both characters, maybe you'll find their development more interesting. It's hard to really say. I definitely like Galad more in the last few books. Gawyn I'm still pretty indifferent on.
