The Red Notebook discussion

What a charming little book that seems to have much of life between its covers, though it is not boring or humdrum. It’s about so much: how we spend much of life in passing of each other; how two people meeting is so much a matter of personality; how much of life can be the result of accident, including love. A bookseller finds the discarded stolen handbag belonging to a woman who lives not so far away from him. Do they ever meet, even though he returns the bag and its contents to her? The simplicity of the story is what is so delightful, I think. And I shall have to reread it again to make sure I didn’t miss something profound.
