This was a great time - finding something in common with another soul at an important time of my life, and beginning to usher in a new era in South Africa

This is such a beautiful part of the book. It sounds like one of the great love stories of all time. It's interesting how marriage affects one's relationship with your family. I think that happens with many couples. I've also seen how grand parents are completely different with their grandchildren and you cannot belief they are the same persons as parents!
