2017 July
Duration: 6 month
Goal: # of books you plan to read in the 6 month time frame
Since I start so many new series, this is to read the 2nd books. See how many 2nd books you can read in the time frame.
[I read 10 #2 books in 11 months.]
Suggestion: We could use this title for another challenge that lets you have a second chance at doing a challenge that they didn't finish either on time or how they wanted. When I saw the title that is what I thought you were going with instead of the second book. And I have had this as a challenge in mind for awhile, the second change challenge that is. Or maybe we could call the second chance challenge for challenges: ReDo Challenge or the Second Challenge Challenge. Just a thought, what do you think?
Second Chance Challenge -> Second Book Challenge

I am currently enthralled with cover challenges, so I thought this visual challenge might be fun.
Read books with certain color covers (at least 10% of color)...pick a minimum of 3 colors and read 1 of one color, 2 of another color, and so forth. Feel free to reorder books and colors as you read. (I don't expect you to know which color is going to be at what level at the beginning of this challenge.)
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here is an example of a completed BOLD level challenge:

List books using their cover instead of by title for the visual effect. You could use a blank cover (of a book not loaded onto GR yet) as a placeholder or a color but that is up to you.

Levels:
Primary (3 colors & 6 books)
Pastels (4 colors & 10 books)
Brights (5 colors & 15 books)
Bold (6 colors & 21 books)
ROYGBIV (7 colors & 28 books)
ROYGBIV + B/W (9 colors & 45 books)
Guidelines:
* Re-reads are allowed.
* Duration is a suggestion and begins when you start the challenge.

109 Member Dance Party ~ the mods came up with this
and
Super Sexy Collaborative Dance Party ~ the mods asked us all to submit our likes and made it into a challenge 53 out of 200 responded (though it does make me crazy that it was an odd number ~ lol)
But I think asking people to answer a question and making a challenge is cool!
And yes, if and when we are going to do it, I'll make up that challenge, but I don't know what question makes sense.
Maybe...what's your favorite color, one of your hobbies (we could apply a task type - spell it out, pick a letter ~ title, author first or last name, find it in the book, find on the cover, etc) and at least one more thing...

1. Birth ~ Book published in your birth month or a book with at least 2 of the digits from your birth year in the page count (example - if you were born this year (2017) 372 pages contains a 7 and a 2)
2. Childhood ~ A Children's book or a book with at least one character under the age of 14
3. School ~ A Contemporary fiction book or a book where a character goes to school or a book where a character is a teacher
4. Dating ~ A book where someone goes on a date or a book with a female main character AND a male author or a book with a male main character AND a female author
5. Graduation ~ A book where someone goes to high school/college or a book that has a title that starts with a letter in GRADUATION ("The" does not count)
6. Career ~ A book where someone has a job or a career (list) or an author that has 2 matching vowels in the book title
7. Fall in Love / Marriage ~ Romance book or a book where someone falls in love or says "I love you"
8. Retirement &/or Senior citizen ~ Book with a character over 65 or a book that ENDS with a letter in RETIREMENT
9. Vacation ~ Book set somewhere you would like to vacation (tell us the setting) or book where someone travels on either an airplane or boat/ship
10. Children ~ Book where the main character has a child or a book with at least 3 children in it
11. Pets ~ Book with an animal on the cover (show the cover) or a book with a shapeshifting character
12. Party / Celebration ~ Book with a party favor or decoration on the cover (show the cover) or a book with a party of some kind (please explain).

Duration: 3 months
The speed of light in a vacuum is 299792.458 kilometers per second. So for this challenge, read series books that correspond to the digits of this number or add up to the number. (example for 9, To the Nines either for having the number in the title or #9 in the series or The Iron Knight #4 + Spirit Bound #5). Since there are 3 9's, you may also use the published year or number of pages to get numbers. Please only use 1 book per number.
So to complete this challenge, you must read at least 9 books.
For an extra challenge, feel free to do multiple rounds of this challenge.

Duration: 6 months
Levels:
Triple Play ~ 3 pairs
Six Pack ~ 6 pairs
Baker's Dozen ~ 13 pairs
You may only use a book once in the challenge, even if it could be paired with another book. List books in pairs, with some similarity between the books, and please explain. Get creative with your observations: same author, authors are the same gender, same year published, both books are #3 in their respective series, main characters have the same first name, set in the same state, takes place in a big city, both stories have a dog, shape shifter stories, word "murder" in the title, mysteries, lone man on the cover, blue covers, romance, great best friends...basically, anything goes.
Post examples:
1. Paranormal Romance
- Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward (4/5/17)
- The Body Finder by Kimberly Dertling (4/24/17)
2. Orange covers
-

-

3. One word title
- Untraceable by Laura Griffin (2/20/17)
- Persuader by Lee Child (2/21/17)
